Not sure how the lag thing works. I didn't notice the lag in FFXI unless it came to NMs. But just clicking on stuff and exping was never a problem..

Why is Aion so much laggier (NA, Siel - i mean)? Because its Beta or waaaah?

Well normally a game has all those people spread out over many servers, not just four, also everyone is crowded into the newbie areas because everyone is starting a new character. I bet Aion at launch will be a bit laggy since everyone is starting over again and it will be that way until people start dispersing into the higher level areas

Almost 22 at the moment. Between like midnight and noon last night the servers were perfectly smooth and I was having a blast doing Krall quests and grinding, but now they're back to shit. Going to take a break until later tonight and hopefully the servers will stop lagging like crazy. I'm used to playing with lag from C-Aion, but Siel is at the point for me and other people that you're getting 10 seconds of playing, then huge 5-30 second lag spikes, then the game fast forwards through everything you lagged through, and that's just impossible to play with as a fucking mage.

I'm thinking once I find a decent grinding spot I'll hang out there on my Spiritmaster. My DP bonus makes my pet a fucking god for 10 minutes and I can get like 2500 DP in those 10 minutes if I kill shit non stop and just use it over and over again. With it up I'm usually killing on level mobs in about 5-10 seconds, it's so fucking awesome.

In Elten (or whatever) there's a little monkey village right by where Dirty Chindu walks around; its on the very edge of the map. Kill the monkeys there with your DP buff, at 22/23 i was getting 640k exp every 10 minutes.

Also every 3-4 hours there a NM will pop that drops a decent ring/book that you can sell for decent cash. You can't miss him when he pops, hes huge (named Greedy Manku).

Hmm, I'm assuming using the upgraded Fire Spirit at 22, or Earth Spirit?

It seems for me so far that Fire is better than Earth in every way, I've yet to use Earth at all...

fire is better if you're killing stuff your level, or if you have DP active. I've found earth to be better if you're killing things 4 levels above you, or taking on several mobs at a time. Generally Fire is best for solo.

It depends on what you're fighting. Most of the time I prefer Earth because i don't have to babysit its health as much as the others, and the fact that it can heal itself or pop invincible. I only use Fire when I'm in groups, or when Earth is under leveled (due to the time between tiers). Wind I use when I'm kiting elites, and Water when I'm exploit grinding >.>;

Use thunderclaw to sic Earth at the mob, then kill a different mob yourself. You shouldn't have hate on earth's target if you're not acting on it. Whenever I'm speed grinding like that, I'm always killing 2 mobs at once. Bring potions and powders to reduce downtime, and always have your pet tanking the Ranged mobs (they'll kill you fast).

I've never been to Eltnen before, soooo I'm passing up all kinds of weird shit. I think I'm going the wrong way?
