I am also eagerly awaiting this game. My biggest 'concern' is how agressive/frequent the PvP is. A few of our wives will be playing with us and I dunno how they'd handle constantly being under attack by players >.>;

Does that mean you can get randomly attacked? or you have to be on that type of server? or you have to select the option to fight or not?
I'm not afraid of a little fighting, but in those types of games, it's usually not fair. If I get challenged and it turns into Street Fighter, where skill, not gear is the deciding factor... THEN BRING IT ON!
You aren't safe anywhere but towns after lvl 20. World pvp is pretty hardcoded into this game, there won't be a pve only server.
Faction vs Faction only open PVP though. If you see another party of the same race as you, you can't kill each other, only "Duel" each other to which you both must consent to.
Everything they are doing = win
No wonder people over @ Aionsource are so pissed look at some of the join dates of those bozos- 06 -for some gd I just heard about this game. I feel bad for those numnuts.
BG Forum players will be rolling PvP and the evil side, end of story. None of this pretty-pretty princess faction, PvE bullshit. Go hard or go home, or don't roll with the BG crowd.
PVP doesn't scare me in the least... I was just curious what the restrictions on it are. As much as it doesn't scare me, I'm sure it will get annoying fast if high-levels are allowed to walk around one-shotting newbs. (lvl 20 on or w/e it is). Otherwise, I think PVP can be fun if it's balanced. (Completely unlike FFXI)
Gotta say it looks pretty awesome.
And NA/EU Aion development gets a kick in the face!
NC West mothballs European office // News
Twitter / rockjaw11/02/2009
NCsoft has made around 70 staff redundant at the Brighton office of NC West. The details of the cuts have yet to be confirmed by the company as yet, but it is thought that staff were informed this morning. It is believed only a handful of posts will remain in the Brighton office. NCsoft Europe exec Geoff Heath would not comment on the matter when contacted by GamesIndustry.biz.
The formation of NC West was announced last September in a bid to make the company's activities outside of Korea more profitable under one banner, and combined the US and European activities in a single entity.
It is not yet known if NC West in North America is affected by similar cuts to headcount.
NCsoft Europe has laid off more people: estimate 80 percent of staff are gone, maybe more. Good luck spinning this one.![]()
Ok time to start forgetting entirely about this game <_< If it does get released in NA/EU it'll get the shitty support SE gives XI probably![]()
Just look at how horribly they treat the NA/EU L2 community. It's going to be basically the same. In somewhat related news, very few L2 players are looking forward to Aion. They all are waiting for TERA, which is being made by the original L2 team without NCSoft's involvment.
Well, appears the gun was jumped.
Euro development jobs moved to US, confirms NCsoft // News
I never know what to think about MMO "customer service" tbh. My MMO life has been FFXI, and I just sorta rolled with the punches when nerfs came, or cheered when they did fix something. I guess since I havent had my account hacked or lived through constant griefing or anything, customer service is sort of a moot deal to me /shrug
