The thread on AS from that 50 templar in Caion about how useless it is in mass PvP was pretty thorough. He's jumped on the ranger bandwagon now too. It seems like the favorite amongst ganksters and pvpers.

It hasn't changed my opinion on templar though. I love the job. Can't see picking another job just because it happens to be "better" at this point.

Yep, 1.2 should be hitting soon though, which increases the cap to 50.

Thats because they didn't fix the problem.

When you put a band-aid on a broken arm and find out its not helping you don't put ANOTHER band-aid on the arm thinking more is better, you get something different.

I would say enough to get to 10 with a character or 2.

took me like 8 hours to get to 10 the first time as it was a lot of screwing around and reading quests + getting use to where shit was.

I would say get 10 units thats 25 hours + 5 from when you first sign up should be enough...

Honestly it depends on your playstyle and how fast you level. I you're quick you can get to 12-15 without needing to buy any time, but casual levelers and first timers will probably need more than 5 hours.

I think like $1.06 will give about 9 hours (counting the 5 hours from the free trial) which should be enough to give you a decent feel for the game (at least the early levels). Just remember that most classes don't start to really shine until their 20s; don't let the first few levels of play influence you too much.

oh ive been messing around on different regions, ive gotten a couple of characters to 10 already, liking cleric alot, im just looking to try more of the mid level stuff before release, to familiarise myself with leveling grounds, questing & basic mechanics.

In that case I'd say to just pay as you go, instead of "locking" yourself into buying too much time. I did that for a while, just putting like $5 on my account and if I needed more I simply reupped. I'm a really big fan of the pay as you go scheme as opposed to monthly fee as it's better for casual players (which is a large portion of the MMO market atm)...though it really sucks for the "hardcore" players like me >.>;;
