FFXI For laptop

Hey guys,

Happy Holidays, got a quick question for those of you who know the answer.

I brought my laptop which has FFXI installed to my uncles this year, but Is it really true I can't move w/out the numpad keys? Is there anyway I can switch the movement keys to W A S D? Or is it really true that I have to just plug in an external keyboard?

Choose compact keyboard from the FFXI config menu, and it'll map the keys to your laptop keyboard. You should see blue numbers and symbols on your keyboard, those keys are what you use to move and act in the game.

so do i click on gamepad settings? I dont see where compact is

In the game, hold down alt/ctrl and hit - (minus key), and use the arrow keys to go to Config -> Misc1 (I believe), there'll be a keyboard option down below with two buttons, one for full size, and one for compact. Select compact.

I actually enjoy using the W A S D more than numpad

Yeah sorry, I realize FFXI config sounds like the program in windows.. I meant the ingame settings.
