Fifa 09 world cup mode?

Anyone know how to do a world cup like tournament with qualifiers and then the brackets? Always use to have like a world cup mode back in zee day ( I havent played fifa since it I bought it on Game cube) and I just wanna have a tournament for international teams.

Also if possible to do a euro cup too i'm pretty dumb at this stuff so thanks for any input ! ;o

EA gimped tournament options eversince they've found the goldmine of "releasing tournament specific games"(Personally, hated them all except WC98 ), like EURO 2008, etc.

In real world, World Cup has 32 teams and European Championship has 16 teams(excluding preeliminary rounds of course). For World CupYou can;

Game Modes > Tournament > Create Tournament > Groups&Knockout w/32 teams > Replace 32 pre-selected teams with intenational teams of your choice.

For European Championship its pretty much the same deal except create a tournament w/16 and replace them w/ UEFA national teams.
I suggest you to find the list of qualified teams online(wiki should have it), create a tournament, save and load whenever you feel like playing again.

Note: You can't include earlier qualifying rounds because FIFA does not support a big tournament like that and there simply isn't enough national teams in the game. They released http://us.euro2008game.ea.com/ this game for that purpose.

Is there a way I can do it so the tournament mode is saved and it randomizes a preselected team choice each time?

you can...sorta;

Game Modes > Tournament > Create > Groups&Knockouts with Advanced settings: ON.

This will allow you adjust settings like from which league/group you want game to randomize teams from, how skilled the teams will be, etc. Pick "International" with "3 stars and above teams", and the game will create you a world cup-ish tournament. However, for European Championship you'll have to replace some teams manually as you can't specify regions/continents among "international" teams. Let me give you the settings for a good World Cup Game:

Teams: International
Skill Level: 4 Stars and Above
Number of Teams: 32
Teams per Group: 4
Teams Advancing: 2
Subs: 7
Yellow Card Ban: 2
VS. in groups : 1
VS. in knockout: 1
VS. Final: 1

Unfortunately, you can't save your settings but these should minimize time wasted with creating the tournament. Shouldn't take longer than 3-4 mins.
