The fine line of being smart and abusing the game.

Got to thinking with the recent things that have been happening and things in the past. We all know there's a fine line when it comes to certain things in this game. Like with the Salvage glitch and people making gil off events. Or those that have endless mules to do scroll quests/items quests to sell.
With the Salvage glitch yes it's understandable for people to want to use it to get their items fast and for friends but using a glitch like that is a no no on the ToS but if you found it out good job you're a smart one. That's a gray area there. Doing something bad in a small to get something done fast. But crossing that said gray area into the ohh...dark side (lol) would be selling the dup'ed items for gil which is where I'm sure a lot of people got pissy about.
Same can be said for the Sand Worm glitch.
With the event items that people like to sell for some fast and easy gil but yet when they nerf the drop the rates some people on here going "Good they nerf'ed them, you shouldn't be making gil that fast and easy." With this one I don't see what the problem is.
And in SE eyes cause rmt do it means it's bad and they nerf the NPCable items players sold for gil (fast and easy route) again. Same can be said with fishing.
SE tries to make the game the better for it's players by hurting the rmt which a lot of bitch about but they also are killing us as well cause what rmt to do make gil we do as well.
So that makes a lot players that don't care if they use glitch to what they want and fuck SE over or they just don't care at all. Which in turn when those that don't about the glitch bitch to SE about whatever they at the data and say "Game is working fine you must be crazy."
White area oh let's say the moral high rider's, the rare and few temped to cheat (using it losely here) but wont cheat. Gray area those that use glitches to get what want and stop, people that use their mules smartly to make cash, or use mules IE MMM style for ruins or whatever (can't remember atm). Black area those that just abuse things to no end for whatever they want, gear, items or gil.
And yes it's just a game don't look to deeply into it but all and all the game does have it's own morals....ToS.
And sorry if this half makes sense or not, watching my little one so mind is mostly on him not on this.
But what are your thoughts on this....the FFXI of black, white and gray areas....or that fine little line?

People get frustrated w/ drop rates and "welcome" glitches like that.

I agree there is a fine line, but it is difficult to tell sometimes when it is "okay" to bend or cross it. SE fails completely with some ToS violations while banning with extreme prejudice on others. In regards to the salvage glitch, I know 2 people that got suspended on monday and that was the only thing they did. Their other group members who bot and do other things people would complain about did not. The other members said (I know them offline and it was discussed offline) the other two actively persuaded the others to use the glitch, while they just did what they were told.

Its quite simple. When the game crosses the line from being fun to being a nuisance, people will cross the line from obeying to breaking rules.
