Final Fantasy III for the DS

I was just thinking the other day that I never ever got to really play this game. And I wanted to for a quite a while but never heard anything about it that much. Any suggestions? I remember playing the hacked version of FFIII on an emulator so Im wondering if its the same or if I should go out and buy it since its only 20 bucks.

When your talking about "hacked version" are you referring to the translated NES version? If so, I'd pick up the DS version.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

ds version was fun, they put more story into it and gave the characters a better personality.

on a random note: that chick in your sig always seems to be wearing the same outfit whenever she pops up on forums. SOMEONE BUY HER SOME CLOTHES.

No. I prefer that she be in either those or nothing at all times.

FF3 DS was just too slow. Slow combat, slow victory dance thing, etc etc

I couldnt finish it just too slow for me.. I am a big FF fan and played all the games in the series except this one, but just couldnt hold my attention. I would say rent it first and then decide to buy it if you want. It is super traditional rpg, random battles ect, and it is a job system game like FF5.

I thought the FF3 for DS was a fairly good remake, that added a lot to the game from its initial release. That being said, if you haven't played the FF4 DS remake, I'd recommend that instead.

It's pretty bad. My least favorite FF. Stupid magic and job system, slow in every regards... Only real high point is that it has nice graphics for a DS game.

OK remake, but the game itself was a little boring. Couldn't get myself to finish it.

Same, it feels like FF1 and FF2 (who also barely have any storylines at all...)

If you really want an FF game for the DS, the FFIV remake is what you should be buying.

It's a great game for what it is, but it's definitely a very specific type of game, and I can see a lot of people not liking it. It's basically your hardcore old-school RPG with a minimalist story (although there is a story, and it's good) and lots of tough battles. I really love the graphical style, too. Basically, if you take pride in developing a well-built party that can overcome difficult challenges, it might be your type of game. If you'd rather play something with a fanastic story, in-depth characters, and a battle system that's easy-to-medium difficulty, you should probably look elsewhere.

For what it's worth, I lived for progressing towards each new crystal and getting new jobs, it was so fun seeing what new jobs were available and what the costumes would look like on everyone. I only wish Dragoon didn't look like a goddamn gay knight with a duck helmet on

IMO this is the best type of game. <.<; I really didn't care what was going on in FF3, I just wanted to blow shit up and make levels to blow more shit up. >P
