In today's world, would a conflict spread to the US? Well, considering the oceans are to this day, an extremely useful barrier against attacks and our borders are protected by shitty terrain to the north and to the south extremely open and manageable terrain, I'd say that we're pretty safe here. I think our involvement in WW2 was coming regardless as a preemptive strike to stop Hitler before he became too strong to control, the Japanese attack on PH just lit the fire for public support.

Probably, I guess if you want to conclude that WW1 helped with Hitler and his rise to power, which is a fair statement. Still though, if we hadn't interfered... Once Germany took control of Europe and Russia (which he was close to doing even after we decided to join the war) he would have undoubtedly turned his attention to us. So.. joining the war was protecting our interests, too.
