Enter the FFXI Matrix (Maybe 56k)
Hello BG Tech People
For the past few months I've been plagued with an issue that has made it impossible for me to play FFXI and on a few odd occasions several other games.
For a while this wasn't really an issue because I was getting bored with the game and contemplated quitting. But now I want to play the game and enjoy it. The only issue is this problem is still occurring and I just reformatted my computer last weekend. There should be no reason that it is still happening.
Here's the problem:
Before the problem kicks in:

After the problem kicks in:

See the issue?
I swear that I am standing in the same exact spot in whitegate. This isn't the only iteration of the problem though.
Sometimes it's this:

I've put together an album on photobucket if you want more screens:

I get the feeling that this problem is stemming from my graphics card or hardware and not my client because I've reinstalled several times and as I said above, I just reformatted my computer. I don't think that the windower is to blame because I've used the FFXI windower and still had the issue. I've also sporadically had this issue pop up in other games.
If anyone has any suggestions as to what I can do to remedy this problem and get back to meriting it would be greatly appreciated =DDD

lmao, that bottom screenshot is great. FFXI Matrix for real!
Download driver sweeper and run it in safe mode. Delete all your graphics drivers. Reboot into windows and download and install the latest drivers and see if that fixes your problem.

1. Remove/Clean old graphics drivers off PC in safemode. If you want, you can be more anal and download "http://www.drivercleaner.net" and go deeper into cleaning the old installation/drivers while in safe mode.
2. Download the latest drivers for your card, install. (You'll more than likely have to reboot)
3. Go into POL, check to make sure none of your FFXI/POL files are corrupt via the checker.
4. Login, and see if the results are the same. In my case, it fixed it on one of my old gaming PC's.

I would venture to say that the graphics card Drivers the problem, or even temperature is to blame on the card. I would download GPU-Z i believe is the name, an see if you can get a reading of what the temps are on your PC.
