For those who don't know, Moore has been so quick to pass off his IPs to film studios because he genreally believes nobody can film decent versions of his work so who gives a fuck if they do a bad job. He has notoriously sworn off involvement in any of the film adaptation projects, but as a testament to Hayter's screenplay Moore said that he would approve of a Watchmen project using that screenplay.

However, since the Snyder version we're seeing is not using the Hayter screenplay - though it does use it as a base in some cases - Moore has once again distanced himself from this project.

I'm on chapter 8 now and I'm in love with this story. Rorschach is a badass but Laurie is a fucking whore. I was surprised at the nudity though, didn't know they could do that in comics. I can't wait to wake up tomorrow and finish the last 4.

Regarding the comics...is anyone familiar with the different versions there are? I'm planning on ordering a paperback and there are two different publishing companies: "Random House Inc." and "Titan Publishing Group".

Both have the same amount of pages (436) and um yeah. I'll post the links to them but they're in German (the site, not the book).

    Random House Inc.

As far as I know there's nothing different about the content of the comic between publishers. I think they re-issued a hardcover version with different art on the cover, but that's about it.

Just check the trade paperbacks to make sure they have the stuff inbetween the chapters of the comic - they're really worth reading.

I agree with this. I'll probably go out and get the book so I can read it since the story seems really interesting after seeing that trailer.

God damn, wouldn't that be awesome.

A movie so awesome it makes people go out and buy the comic book it's made from, especially people who've never really read comic books?

Looking forward to this and for Neil Gaiman to get off his ass and make a Sandman movie instead of talking about it for 3 years.

screenplay for The Watchmen - David Hayter

David Hayter screenplay. Apparently Alex Tse took Hayter's screnplay and made changes (not sure how many) and that since then, Hayter requested to be credited for writing it.

After seeing the trailer, the movie actually seems good. At first i thought it was just another anti hero movie that the resentful kids of the 21st century love, until i realized that these guys actually do seem to have their reasons, that by looking at the atmosphere, seem legitimate. Aside from that, visionary is the last thing i'd call anything that had to do with 300. Unless you've never seen ripped pecs in slow motion before.

It takes balls and VISION to make a movie that's 75% slow-mo.

Out of all the DC/Darkhorse heroes to do a move adaptation to, why the hell are they pulling out the stragglers. Frank Miller fucked up on doing The Spirit (The Question would've been way better) and now the Wachowski Bros. are considering Plastic Man? WTF?

Holy shit, just finished 11 and I am in awe. Fucking amazing. I seriously doubted the hype surrounding the greatness of the story but honestly, I am so impressed I want to find more comics like this now. I'm glad this was my introduction to comics and I hope 12 resolves everything..including Jon's role in all of this.
