the psp is the greatest system ever. if u know what to do with it.

buy 1, make sure its not 3000 series, hack it, then put every ps1 game you ever loved on the damn thing and youll never be bored ever. Not to mention it can emulate everything up to (and soon add) n64 games. I have a 16gb memory stick thats sony mark2 that i bought from fry's for 70$ thats as good as it gets kiddos.

16gb mem stick wth? I just bought a 8 gig lol I thought that was as high as it goes. Yeah I would definitely suggest that PSP is worth it for the hacking and playing of PS1/GBA/w/e I love it after I recently figured out how to do it. I'm still trying to find a code though to get Beatrix in my party for FF9..... -.- using the CW cheat, I tried one from gamefaqs and it fucked my save file up and made beatrix into zidane its so horrible

If you live and die by emu's, then yeah a PSP is worth it. But if you want a steady flood of legit developer support, then no, it's not worth it, with developer support falling into the shitter and the rest running head first towards the DS.

It's sheer irony, because the PSP was supposed to bury the DS within six months, but it never even started to catch up to the DS and then the Lite was released and the game was over.

Legit developer support means what? Sure, DS numerically has more releases, but most of it is shovelware like movie games and DREAM DAY: WEDDING DESTINATION (fox only, no items). When you eliminate all the shovelware...

In 2009, the DS is getting:
    Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon
Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride
    Little Magician's Magic Adventure
    Gauntlet
    Blue Dragon Plus
    Puzzle Quest: Galactrix
    Gardening Mama
    Pokemon Platinum
    Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars
Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume
    de Blob
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time
    Scribblenauts
    [[removed]]

    PSP is getting:
    Mana Khemia: Student Alliance
    Star Ocean: Second Evolution
    LocoRoco 2
Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero?
    Resistance: Retribution
    Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce
    Phantasy Star Portable
    Dissidia Final Fantasy
    Ape Escape Academy 2
Ape Escape: Saru Saru Master Moves
    Bomberman: Panic Bomber
    Cave Story: Doukutsu Monogatari
    Devil May Cry Series
    Dirt 2
    Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion, The
    Gran Turismo Mobile
    Monster Hunter Freedom Unite
    Namco Museum Volume 2
    PixelJunk Monsters

It comes down to taste. Personally, I can count the DS games I'd bother with and the PSP games I wouldn't bother with on one hand. And it's not like both systems are so expensive it isn't affordable to own both.

Also, "PSP is dead" is a myth. It has a third of the handheld market.

Wait, so namco museum get a mention, but no mention whatsoever of the suikoden, sands of destruction, kingdom hearts 358/2, and some other title I probably missed.

I mean either way it's up to everyone's preference on what game you'd consider worth mentioning, but that listing is somewhat biased.

I didn't go through it with a fine-toothed comb, which is why I provided links to the actual list. And as for 358/2 Days, it doesn't even have a release date in Japan yet.

And blame retailers. I'm sure anyone that works in retail can tell you its retardedly easy to sell the gayest, dumbest games to the majority of the audience that bought handhelds this year. Here in my area, DS's are sold out EVERYWHERE, and I know i sold plenty of Imagine: Wedding Designer and Petz: Cat Poop Cleaner to go with them. Developers cant help the fact that the people buying the stuff right now dont want awesome games for the PSP, they want to waste money on crap their kids will play once and never touch again.
