They were playing for the division title. They win they seal it. It was @ home in swirling wind and mcnabb threw for near-200 yds. The game was only close because of 2 plays, the blocked long FG and cause they were playing prevent D.
It's going to be a close game, and I didn't say we'd put a stomping on the Giants, I said we'd win it.
I wish I could have that confidence in my team too![]()
If it weren't for your avatar....I'd...*distracted*
I gotta give the Vikings credit, they played about as well as they possibly could today and had me scared shitless till the Westbrook TD. A couple things:
- Brad Childress was a fucking idiot for declining that Holding call early in the game. Instead of pushing it back to a possible 54 yard attempt, with your D getting great pressure on McNabb, you let a guy who has like a lifetime 95% FG rate under 45 yards kick the 44 yarder. In a dome. I'm speechless.
- Jim Johnson barely blitzed at all until the 3rd quarter. With a QB like Jackson there is no reason to let him sit back in the pocket all day with no pressure. He started bringing pressure near the end of the 3rd quarter and what happens? They shut the Vikings down. He should have been bringing the house all game long.
- I didn't think anyone else was worse with clock management than Andy Reid. I was mistaken.
I can't wait till next weekend, I think all 4 games with be fantastic.
Does anyone else think that Brad Childress looks kind of like Alien when looking at him from the side a bit?
Brad Childress looks like a child molester. Anyone who denys that he has touched at least 6 little childrens asses inappropriately in the past few years is also a pedo. Both coaches are terrible gametime coaches and are also terrible at clock management.
I liked the Eagles not blitzing a whole lot at the start of the game because it was obvous the Vikings were going to run. It's hard to blitz vs a run. They needed to blitz when they were up and the Vikings needed to score. Blitz when Jackson NEEDS to throw is golden. The blitz's came at the right time for the most part...although they sent the LBs in on 3rd down and short when they should have sent the safety in which is why the Vikings were converting early in the game.
He had over 200 total yards (130 of them on the ground) a few weeks ago vs your rush D. And I'm not sure what the temperature was, but I doubt it was very warm. And I hope they stick with their gameplan last week of keeping Pierce on Westbrook. I'll take that matchup any day.
Only an Eagle fan would think "keeping Pierce on Westbrook" is a "gameplan". The play that pierce got burned on wasn't even a designed play, it was a blitz that got picked up and took like 10 seconds for Westbrook to break his block and head upfield, where Pierce happened to be the closest linebacker in zone coverage.
It's not like Steve Spagnolo pulled Pierce aside and said "Okay, when we blitz, if it happens to get picked up, and McNabb happens to escape, and Westbrook happens to release his block and head upfield, you cover him. You got this dawg."
Anyway, I think the length and strength of the Giants schedule took its toll on the Giants D line, specifically their speed rush, which basically wasn't there the last few weeks. I expect it to be back with the extra week off and the Giants D to get after McNabb and force some game-changing turnovers.
Giants by a touchdown.
Go Cowboys! Oh wait...
Why are temperature and field conditions an issue again? At last check Pennsylvania isn't exactly Cuba this time of year, I think they know a thing or two as windy and cold conditionsEveryone talks like about the conditions at Heinz field and how much more of an advantage that place is for the Steelers, not realizing the Eagles play "right across" town per se. That point has been rendered moot.
Too much is being made of this obviously lol. I can guarantee you that they wont simply just show up, be happy they made it this far and fold the tents like the Cards did vs the Patriots because "its cold and windy". Like I said previously, at this point in the season everyone is 0-0, what you did yesterday and 3 months ago is moot, null and completely irrelevant. Overlook them if you so choose, but keep in mind that the Giants wont win simply because their "supposed to". I bet you if they they come out with a sense of entitlement and being prima donnas and shit and lay a fucking egg Sunday I don't want to hear any of that bullshit backpedaling and whining about how the Eagles this and that, like you all did when Carolina lost on a play that was 5" to far to the left lol. I just want to hear congratulations.
This new found sense of entitlement is hilarious I have to admit, granted you are the defending champions, not the champs of the 08-09 season just yet. I slowly see that trophy case defense rearing its ugly head in you Giant fans, EXPECTING to win because its NY. Sounds a lot like Dallas fans when asked why their team has sucked since 1995-96. I pick the Giants in this game but Ill tell you this, if the Giant players come in with the mentality of you Giants fans they've already lost and Sunday is just a formality.
Any given Sunday, that's all it takes. The Eagles are very capable of pulling the "upset" when overlooked, they are playing with house money right now because for all intents and purposes they should not be here, but I am glad they are. It's a one game season and there is no "next week" or "next time". It's either shit of get off the pot time, you may want to keep that in mind.
Edit: Holy shit, I am a cliche MACHINE.
Eagle fan overlooks Giants game to fantasize about a Philly/Carolina NFC Champioinship and the Giants fans are the ones sounding entitled....
That's great
Hardcore g men fan and this team is the only team that scares me a bit. Anybody who doesn't think the eagles can pull this off is crazy
Every Giant fan I see and talk to feel like they should win because they just should. I mean, not a humble bone in anyone's body that I personally have seen or spoken to.
Squeak one out vs us and have to listen to how "lucky" we are to be that close etc.. knowing 4" decided that game and made the difference between Giant fans walking around chest thumping as they are now, or having to sit down and "eat Crow" and have your pride stung.
I don't dislike the Giants or Eagles and you're right, the Giants "should" win, but you don't win games on paper or who "should win" just because. Its cold, windy true, and this is foreign to the Eagle players how? That was my point. You guys act as if they should fucking apologize for making the playoffs and having the sheet audacity to step into the Meadowlands asking for a game lol. That is the part I find humorous. I am just saying, I saw the low of you all when Carolina scared you shitless. Excuses flying left and right just mere seconds after the Giants won, just tossing it out there before Sunday comes.
I want the excuses out now, so that if the Eagles win I hear nothing but positive shit not "man we would have won if...", "Man fuck that, the refs cheated..." etc.. like I heard when you won on a missed FG by Kasay 3 weeks ago. Kyo HATES the Panthers and he even saw the whining that was going on that game lol, that says ALOT. Just saying, you guys are proud winners and rightfully so, but you all are extremely pathetic and very sore losers.
So here is the template:
Man fuck this game! If [Insert player name here] had not gotten cheated on that call the Giants would have won. I hope the NFL reviews this game and fines [insert Referee name here]! [Insert opponent name here] got lucky as hell, they wont do that to us next year, this is bullshit! [Insert random, rants, raves and excuses until you feel better here]
Kind of like how all us Panther fans starting calling for Fox to be fired AFTER the Carolina/Giants game 3 weeks ago lol. That still makes me laugh. We figured we would start bitching 2 seasons ago just in case we lost to you guys 2 full years later, you caught usA regular negrodamus I am.
Miz disclaimer:
Oh and I have no stake in this game so I could care less, I just wanted Donovan to stick in TO's pooper, which he did. But I picked the Giants to win this game, any attempts to throw this back in my face later or any attempts to misconstrue anything I said is now null and void.
Right now it sure sounds like the Giants are the ones getting overlooked, and the Eagle fans are the ones who think they're going to the super bowl...
But whatever, shame on me for hoping my team wins, etc etc.
Exactly, summed up my point nicely. I picked the Giants and expect them to handle the Eagles. I'd like the Eagles to win and go to the SB, yes that means beating Carolina as well, but I don't see them getting past the Giants.
But like you said, pushing them off like they are pushovers is a HUEG mistake and could be to prove costly if any players actually believe that. Forget the regular season, the Eagles are 1-0 right now. In a win or gtfo game like this, every team is a scary team. None more so than Philly imo.
No Ceph you're right. Hoping they win is different, EXPECTING them to win because they are entitled to it is different. That is what I was referring to.
