New Year's Event

Has anyone checked the mithra child store... and found that the furnishing and buffalo aren't available to buy? >.> would it be something to do with doing the event? Or something that resets each JP midnight or such?

Edit: Hmm... buffalo meat and the furnishing reappeared on her list at the start of the gameweek (firesday) >.>

I noticed that too when I went to go buy it the other day. Really didn't want to have to deal with the randomness of the event to get one. Guess I'll go check on Firesday and see if it's there.

I got my New Years event card after obtaining all 3 snowmen from the 3rd (last Rancher), I then traded one full stack of the Buffalo milk I had bought from the NPC and received it.

sry that I didnt go back to this thread after completing it... To answer a few questions:

When i got my new years gift i had my cap on me, i had tried trading mounds of junk like ammo stacks and got the cannot recieve cap message 3x... so i went to jeuno.
I grabbed 8 stacks of milk at once and traded them all at once, then got the gift 1st try.

After another two stacks of milk to the first rancher in line in West Ronfaure I finally got my new year's gift.
(not given as stacks, but one at a time)

The day/time/moon phase in-game didn't seem to matter as I had previously traded many items around the same time/day/phase and got nothing.
And I didn't change anything as far as completing any other quests, missions, or furniture goes.

So either they fixed what was wrong with the event in today's maintenance, or it's completely a matter of luck and mine is just really bad.


I would definitely suggest the milk though if you're still trying to get the gift.







As far as the Milk Case not being sold from the vendor in Jeuno, the developers recently told an interviewer that the items sold from the Buffalo Bonanza vendor do not get sold out and restock.
Instead, the more that she sells the more products she has available.

So if there looks like there is a shortage of items from that vendor on your server, you need to convince people to buy from her so that the inventory will increase.

If she doesn't sell out, I wonder if she starts taking things off the list if people don't buy anything for a while. Because I checked her a day after the event started and she had everything for sale. When I checked a couple of days ago, she had everything but the milk case and buffalo meat. I checked again after the server maintenance, and to be expected based on selling stuff, she only had the milk and Chalaimbille available. About six hours later, she had everything available including the milk case and meat.
