So, Ive never really watched this show too much, but there was a marathon on tonight, and I just have to say... This show is pretty fucked up. not in an acid trip kind of way, or super violent or anything like that.. it's just, well I really dont know how to explain how it's fucked up unless youve seen some of the episodes i'm talking about...

It touches on some pretty screwed up issues, and the common issues that come up always have some odd twist to them. I very much enjoy this show...and i wish they were still making them ><

It's not bad, just twisted... and some of the episodes are definitely funny. A lot of the late night stuff that Adult Swim air's tends to be borderline, so Moral Orel is no surprise to me.

btw - anyone know if season 4 is planned?

I guess it's what makes Adult Swim "Adult Swim" TV, but I really wonder how they select a lot of their late night shows. They give certain shows a chance that I can't imagine anybody would care to watch (hello that crappy CG show w/ the minotaur). I guess they are looking for sleeper hits, but still.. a lot of the stuff they premier is total crap and shouldn't be given a chance. (this isn't directed at Moral Orel cause it did rather well, just a general observation)

they look for shows that cost almost nothing to make, that they would make all their money back on with just the people that left their tv on when the fell asleep during Family Guy.
then they take all their anime and move it to the 1am-5am slot and wonder why it gets shit ratings.

Moral Orel was one of my favorite shows on Adult Swim.

I completely agree on this. It seemed like once they saw the success of shows like Aqua Teen Hunger Force, which IS pretty awesome, they kept trying to throw more random stuff out there to see what works. Although I gotta admit, that something the mole men is pretty funny.

The last episode pretty much wrapped it up, even showing adult Orel married with 2 kids and a puppy.

It's definitely not a show that makes their jokes outright obvious (Family Guy, South Park, etc). I found the humor in the satire that was being played. I see that a lot of people watching some comedy show require the show to be direct, where Moral Orel feels indirect (i.e. you need to think to laugh sort of thing).

The only directly funny aspect of the show to me is the father's drinking habits and his affection (lack there of) towards his wife. This is one of the few shows on Adult Swim I actually enjoy watching (Mission Hill, ATHF and Home Movies are other great classics that I like).

I love Moral Oral. I like seeing what happens when he and the residents of Ameri...I mean Moralton take religion literal. The show won an Emmy or 2 during its 4 season life on TV, so I don't know about the whole "canceled" thing. Then again I haven't checked if it were simply coming to an end or being killed.

I like the one were he was told that by him beating off, he was in fact "killing innocent babies" which is a sin in the eyes of God. To which he responded by impregnating the women of Moralton artificially using his masturbated semen to that God would not see it as a "waste and as if here were killing babies" in hope that he would be forgiven and could still go to heaven.

Awesome episode, I love Moral Oral. It just goes to show you, that if you take a step back and look at religion and some of the bullshit it teaches it will make you scratch your head and laugh.
