I managed to log in, haven't gotten the boot yet (has been about 45 minutes)

2400 people on Odin right now, which is about 500 or so short of normal.

ive been trying to connect all day, then all of a sudden i start getting a message saying i need to reactivate my content ID's, so i try that, and only the inactive ones are on the list.

so then i check my payment method and that does not load up, possibly the payment and server transfer servers are down.

and then i try to log in and can magically get to the character selection menu without reactivating any content ID's or updating my payment information!

of course, i get stuck while zoning and back where i started.

I've gotten a few different POL errors, I've been able to log in a few times, I've been able to zone a few times, but I keep getting R0, timing out from FFXI server, and the latest thing which was cute, was just a black screen zoning from mog house into Port San d'Oria (not even a hanging "Downloading data...")

After the first round of issues, I shut down my computer, unplugged the power and disconnected by cable modem (Comcast of course) and let it sit for 15 minutes while I cleaned up my kitchen and loaded my dishwasher.

Still can't stay on, even though I was able to mule gear a few rounds before it timed out again. What the fuck... seriously.

tried logging in at around 6 pm est, was like beating my head in with a hammer, trying again now at 11:40 pm est, still no good.

Its definately not the first character main slot thing, my main is my second slot, shit still happens. However I did get in game around 9:00pm and it worked till about 10:45pm enough time that I got my Byakko's Haidate :D w00t! But now I'm trying to get to dio's to extra farm and it won't let me back on and when I can it disconnects me after a min or two~

Just relogging fixed the "No content id" problem. I was just on for an hour or more with no problems and am logging off of FFXI for the night.

It's Comcast. I've had all the problems listed, couldn't get in, slow getting in, getting in then getting disconnected...

I ran some speed tests and they are all over the place. Mostly around 600k but at times up to 6000k. I'm supposed to have 8000k download. This started tonight when I tried to log in and hasn't cleared up yet (took a 2 hour break to watch the Dark Knight). Off to bed now. I'm giving up for the night...

the issue with "blaming comcast" is that its a huge bandwagon that people jump on whenever their internet isn't working perfectly, regardless of what other factors might be contributing to the problem. when this happens, comcast all of a sudden becomes the worst isp ever and is so not worth the money and so much headache and blah blah. if it's really that horrible put away the box of tissues and switch your service.

if this is a problem with comcast, then i'm sure it'll be resolved soon, yeah it sucks but I'm not going to cancel my service or cry a river.

It may be a problem with Comcast simply by sheer quantity of subscribers.

Its a problem between Tiscali's and asianetcom... Just got off the phone escalating my ass off with comcast for a real tech to to work with but no success they said that there NOC is only available starting at 5am... (1am here now) ... They gave me a UK number for Tiscali 871-222-3311 but i refuse to to take on long distance charges -.- (if only i was still at work)

Granted this is the route that comcast takes to get to ff servers there isnt shit we can do about it since we are comcast's customer and comcast is tiscali's who is asianetcom's customer.
