What is the usual wait time for suspensions?

If you're banned for more than 72 hours, it's permanent, I have never seen anything contradict this personally.

I was LM-17 for 7 days about 3 years ago. Been a long time and they probably use a different system these days.

You know I hate to say it since this game has a lot going for it more then WoW but why can't SE take a step back and take blizzards approach to people who hack and cheat?

This "auto-jail" system seems like them just saying "too many people cheat for us to catch with our limited GM staff" so we implement a system that screws with innocent people.

This is not my account (as stated in OP) so I had to wait till I was off work to go to my friends house. when he logged into his ps2 and showed me, the NPC read me just says "Your account has been jailed due to prohibited activites. Your account will soon be suspended for this violation. Depending on the outcome of the investigation, your account may be banned. We will not be accepting GM calls from this account at this time."

We attempted GM calls (from his wifes account), and call center calls, both said he had to wait on the investigation. He told me he had already tried this, but I told him try again anyways.

He can be an ass in-game sometimes, but he has no warnings and only usually logs in for salvage and dynamis only. How long do you usually get kept waiting in jail before they suspend or ban you? He has another account regardless on his wifes CC#, we are just looking to find out about how long jail usually lasts, as stated in the OP.

Edit: His wife was also in the same salvage group, she and 2 others have not been jailed. My friend and 2 others in the group have.

All chars that have shared info in the past and CC#'s get canned with it. Former linkshell leader got banned by mistake on SE's part. Long story short, he got his account back but he was already quitting

It was the Auto-Jail thing and it happened after the salv dupe was fixed. Cant be because Salvage duping.

re Overclocking: I remember an old post (either alla or KI) where someone's cpu was being OC... or else there was some kind of wonkiness with voltage jumping on it's own... some weird crap. The result was, her character did indeed move faster... they got a GM to check, but he wasn't able to determine if she was having cpu problems or speedhacking...

Gimme a break. Answer this: Why did you dupe cells? Presumed answer: To make salvage easier than it was meant to be. That's pretty much a text book definition of cheating/exploiting here.

Duping is duping, you aren't meant to do it. Don't bother trying to make it seem ok =p

Wow, sorry to necro this, but I wanted to update.

Today finally my friends got released from jail. They had a PoL mail waiting and it said they were no longer under investigation and that was it. They logged in and got GM'd out of jail, GM would not say why they were in it either. Took a month to tell them they did nothing wrong lol.
