why hold it at 26%? we usually get it to 5% and it eject pods every 4-5 tp moves with kc drk or any fast attacker feeding it tp. Tho it usually just drop stupid materials for us. The most we got out of it was 2 useful chips once.

Honestly believe pod ejection is random, he is more inclined to use when he changes forms from 2-4 leg but definitely when he is in final form he does do it randomly. Although stuns to him might be whats causing most people to think its random during form changing stages.
Quite impossible for you NOT to see Gunpods unless they've broken Proto-Omega. I think Omega is capped @ 4 Pods if I'm not mistaken. So, usually just give it another 5mins after the 25% Gunpod has popped. If it a third one doesn't pop at all, then you're shit outta luck, lol.
I have count PO pop 5 gunpods in last ~10 PO. Should have wait to 2-3 min warning if the 5th pod is not popping.
I never said we got zero gunpods, I said we see 1, maybe two, if we're lucky... the only thing broken is your e-thuggery.
I'll ask our officers to hold it at 5%, and feed it TP. We don't stun anything during the fight, so that isn't the problem, but maybe forcing it to spam TP moves will get us more than the 1st pop.
We generally farm the pods but our member got a KC and wanted to give it a try. I was unaware that his four legged form had the same resistance to soul eater as it does to melee damage. That is likely why we screwed up.
In my experiences with pods, they spawn approximately every 5 minutes. It seems as though within 15-30 seconds of the treasure pool from the previous pod being distributed, the next pod is popped.
I think the comment about holding it at 26% may be because he does not have access to colossal blow? Either way I'm not surprised this topic turned into the classic debate of gunpod spawning theories.
you have to get it into the second form before it'll start popping gunpods
so if that takes you more than 5 minutes, you'll never see the 5th gunpod.
You don't need to wait for changing form when it's on berserk mode (HP<25%), It will just pop whenever it wants. One time we had it pop 2 gunpod within 2-3 minutes, before that we had to wait 7-8 min.
Unless it's changing modes between the first and second spawn of those Gunpods, they will always spawn 5 minutes apart. That is how the gunpods spawn. They're timed. When the items from the last Gunpod sort, you'll know the next one is about to pop, so long as Omega is both legs.
Yeah, don't. 6blms can kill him in under 2min. 8can probably do him in in 60sec. Anyone who zergs omega with anything but blms should be shot; hell, its not even zerging with 6-8blm. Thats just a regular, old-fashioned setup. He's just that easy.
I usually go blm/nin and open with ES freeze2 volley right on agro. Then just nuke balls. He'll go to his post-25% form before he even gets a chance to naturally change stances once.
Might wanna double check about that minuetx2 buff because thats probably what you were doing wrong.
Fought Omega yesterday, tried feeding it TP for 20 minutes in the final 2 leg form, still only popped gunpods every 5 minutes. However, a little before that, he popped one switching modes and then popped a second one pretty much immediately (probably from 5 minute timer? One for switching modes, one for time?).
So I really doubt it's a TP move, or that feeding TP does anything. If it is, we got really unlucky and never saw it for 20 minutes of soboro TP spam.
Um, helps to have a 2 plds to initial agro and hold hate 'til elegy is on. He can resist it a few times on occasion. Once elegy is on, blms can tank just fine. I go with +enmity merits on my blm, and remove a few -enmity pieces to I hold hate over the other blms.
Well, I used to.
Now we do omega and a couple farming runs simultaneously, and I generally go to trio SW because I don't trust anyone else to do it, lol.
Most Omegas I've fought only popped 2 pods: one when switching to 2 legs the first time, another when switching to final form. The two I have logs for that popped another one in final form did it 2:02 and 2:23 after the one at final form transition. These were 17:32 and 20:23 after pull, respectively, or 19:35 and 22:27 after "hum".
