I just bought a new HDTV and I'd like to hook my PC to it. I'm guessing that a DVI to HDMI cable is going to be my best bet but I'm clueless as to which one on monoprice is the best bang for the buck. Could you recommend a 5'-10' cable for me?

I'd also like to get one of those adjustable tilting/swiveling wall mounts. Where can I find a good deal on one? It's for a 32" Vizio by the way.

Depending on the specs of the TV, and the specs of your video card, VGA to VGA might be better.

    Edit:
    Namely:
What inputs does the TV have? dvi/vga/hdmi/component
What outputs does your vid card have? dvi/vga/hdmi/component
Is the TV 720p or 1080p?
What is the TVs native resolution? Not all 720p/1080i TVs have a standard res.
What is the resolution output of your vid card?

    Vid card outputs: DVIx2
    TV: 1080p
    TV Res: 1920x1080
Vid card Res: I'm currently running at 1680 x 1050

Vid card is an ATI Raedon HD 2600 XT

Could go either way really, although HDMI would have the benefit of allowing HDCP still which I'm assuming your TV supports, as well as keeping the signal digital, rather than tossing it to analog w/ VGA.

It'll have no problem running at 1920x1080 on that card also if you want to keep it running at the TV's native resolution. (well, depending on which game you plan on tossing it at, otherwise 1280x720 {720p} should do the trick and upscale better than the usual PC resolutions)

I'm gonna get some Ethernet cable, I guess that's Cat5 and not Cat6 right? Whats the cat5e and all that mean?

Basically just need a cable to stretch from my router to a room down the hall, thinking about 50ft will do and according to that site it's super cheap. You guys buying spools, do you cut the wire into specific lengths you want? I might be interested in that with some other wire choices but for now I just need the router > computer.

Cat5 was designed for 100 Mbit/sec networks. Cat6 is designed for 10 Gbit/sec networks. Both have a max cable length of 330 feet.

5e was an upgrade to Cat5 to reduce the interference between unshielded pair wires in the cable.

The only issue with Cat6 is that some cables can be hard to put the plug (boot, w/e) on-to. You won't have a problem with Cat5e.

If you're buying a set length, make sure the cable ends in standard Ethernet 8 Position 8 Contact (8P8C) connectors and I would go with Cat6 based on price point.

Cat6 is a waste of money for current consumer tech. I'd never buy it unless it costs exactly the same as the 5e.

Well, your Vid card only has DVI, so that makes it simple, youll have to do DVI>HDMI, which is good because your TV is 1080p, and your card does support 1920x1080 res.

HDMI from your card to the TV would be the best, but you dont have that option.

    So. Get For only $4.54 each when QTY 50+ purchased - HDMI DVI Cable 28AWG - 10ft w/Ferrite Cores (Gold-Plated) | 28AWG HDMI-DVI Cables

It's HDMI 1.2a, but since it's going through DVI, it doesnt matter.
