Did you merit enmity?

I just merited +crit rate and -enemy crit rate becuse no way in hell I can do anything with enmity with my jobs.


SMN: Yeah, I don't want enmity at all here, i'd rather the enemy just not know i exist

DRG: Strange case, you don't want +enmity on a DD job in a party, but you don't want -enmity while soloing because your wyvern will get hate and die.... then you die.

PUP: Don't want -enmity of course while soloing for the same reason as drg. +enmity wouldn't hurt anything though.

BST: -enmity would be awesome for this job, but it'd ruin drg and pup for me, both of which I enjoy playing more than bst currently.

sch: I couldn't care either way here, this job is just my 1 night stand that didn't have a pet but somehow made it to 75. sch = my sideline ho.

I have not touched Enmity, and I don't think I will. Having THF, RNG, DRK, and SAM, my only option would be Enmity+, but I am reluctant to do that since my SAM has a bad habit of tanking way too much (and, meritting Enmity- would hurt my THF's secondary purpose, ie Trick Attack.) Right now, I think I might merit Spell Interruption, but that is WAY down my list of shit to merit.

The -enmity merite were going kinda strong at start but the +enmity ones overwhelmed them the following days.

If you merited -enmity you have a 45% chance to have 4 less enmity than a player around you and a 39% chance you have a whole lot of 8 enmity less than than a player around you. Makes meriting -enmity really worth it for the people that chose to.

I didn't bother adjusting mine and have no plans to due to my jobs (Pld, Nin, Drk, Drg, Dnc, Rdm, Smn, Sam)

I'll most likely end up doing Spell Interruption Rate down for the last 4 merits in that catagory.

I waste a lot merits on + - enmity. When im blm brd whm only i got - 4/4 enm, then i lvl up war and nin. Is really useful +enm when u lvl up nin or cant tank ._. then i got 4/4 +enm, currently im 2/4 +enm, 4/4 critical and 2/4 Enemy Critical Hit Rate. (Sorry for my english isn't my main language, i hope u understand me guys.)

i've always wanted to ask this; for those who merited spell interruption rate-%, think its worth it? i mean, if you put merits into something like that then obvious its because you didnt want to fuck with enmity and didnt have anything else to invest in, but do you even notice the difference?
i always thought it'd be worthless and crit/enemy crit would be the best way to go if you wanted to avoid touching enmity due to multiple jobs

i notice it, i think. i was doing nyzul last night, casting utsusemi:ichi, got hit, and the spell actually went off, i was kinda surprised (even though they are mostly DC-T mobs) this was on WAR too.
but then we were fighting the floor 100 boss and i couldnt even get Ni off heh.
i frequently can get utsusemi off while on ninja even when i get hit now too.

It's only 4 enmity anyway. Used to play NIN a lot (never anymore), but helpful for MNK in Salvage. And if I'm pulling hate, 4 less enmity probably wouldn't save me...er, nor 8 less enmity.

Didn't touch emnity mostly because I hate meriting (so I'm still working on job specifics) and that I thought about it for a long long time and couldn't make a decision. I'm glad half of the people also decided not to merit emnity since it can be such a hard choice and a double edged sword.

With White Mage, Black Mage, Red Mage, Dark Knight, Bard, Ninja, Blue Mage, and Scholar, I would want to merit Enmity down since I never use Ninja. But that would mean I could never tank anything on Red Mage or Blue Mage. Plus I'm leveling Paladin now, so it's totally out of the question.

I have 4/4 Critical hit rate+ merits and that's it for now.

I want to merit Enmity+ for PLD, but my WAR already shreds up hate on anything not significantly stronger than sky gods. BST would get shitwrecked in solo if I tried meleeing with my 15% haste gear. I'm also planning on leveling BLM in the future, which wouldn't fare well. I'm at a loss at what to do in that category, but for now I'm thinking on meriting enemy crit- to benefit all jobs. Any endgame paladins available to give advice on whether or not enemy crit- or spell interruption would be more useful?

Never going to merit enmity, there's so much good + or - gear I don't think it's really that crucial. 4 crit rate and 4 spell interruption for me.
