The commander of the Alamo apparently thought that reinforcements were otw so they were not actually aware they were fighting to the death until the morning of the final Mexican siege, when some of the strongest myths about the Alamo were purported to happen(Bowie's last stand when in all likelihood he died in his bed of unrelated causes).

And as to looking at the war and not the battle as you mentioned in a previous post, there was a second fort, the Goliad, that suffered the exact same fate as the Alamo (massacred by Mexicans) and yet even though that fort had actual strategic importance to the Texan Revolution we don't glorify it anywhere near as much as the Alamo is. In reality though, that period is a huge fucking taint on our history caused by slave owning white males who were afraid if they didnt spread their slavery shit west it would eventually be overturned. Also, imo the real (unsung) heroes of the Texan Revolution were the Tejanos, Mexicans living alongside the American immigrants in peaceful coexistence, they were at the Alamo and fought alongside the Texans throughout the Revolution cause they wanted freedom from their oppressors too, only to be rewarded for everything afterwards by systemic discrimination and abuse because ignorant fucks generalized them w/ the "bad" Mexicans because shit thats the American way.

That was my point. Iran's operating budget is based on the assumption that oil will not drop below $80 a barrel, their government will run out of any money by the middle of this year at the rate barrels of oil are dropping. Venezuela is similiarly due to hit dire financial straits within a year. I was assuming that Mexico, a nation that has had bad money problems for the last few decades, and Russia, a nation whose rise in the last 8 years in large part due to oil wealth paralleled by Iran/Venezuela, would be in similiarly deep economic shit within 2 years and would thus be unable to influence shit in this country.
