I've gotten Nue Fang, Dodo Skin, and Lumbering Horn from randomly camping and killing the NMs when they were nearby and I was bored. Nue and Dodo I had a lot of time to get the drop since I farmed nearby.

Nue's drop rate does suck a lot though. 1/6

1/3 on Nue, 1/2 on dodo, 1/4 on vines. (4/4 but i let 3 other people go before me since it was empty and we had ToD)

morbolger's drop is 100% btw. went 0/14 on dodo myself...
also: does Dodo Skin still say "a feather from the Dodo Bird"?

If you can, do the KSNM. The drop rate for the vine is *INCREDIBLY* high (75%+).

Unfortunately, the KSNM strategy only seems to be a SMN burn... but if you know nice SMNs.. >.>

You can do it with 6 blind mice... it's a kited fight, very easy and simple. Ranged damage helps but I have done it with a normal burn party before too.

NIN/DNC or /THF can solo.

My interest is piqued since I have a lot of K.Seals to burn. How would a NIN/DNC solo this? I thought the range was too far to straight up run out of it from point blank.

I killed Dodo, Nue and Morbolger (All 3 were 1/1 drops obviously ) within 5 hours. I was a very happy camper :D
Morbol was my last mob to camp which I was planning to leave out there for the rest of the afternoon/night and just go do something else.... I walk into the room... Lo and behold... he's beating on an AFK JP nin lawl.

Nue is totally an asshole, I think TH might help it though if you have any thf friends. I spent the most time camping Nue out of the 3 myself, way back in the day during inflation when I did this quest and sold my brown belt for 3mil >.>

Stand at 6'5 and fight it, start to run when it readies it for the second time. WS whenever possible, /DNC for healing waltz to erase weight and evasion bonus, you shouldn't be getting hit too much as it hits for 270+ each hit. Macro in ele staves for enfeebles for at least the first round, as if it resists Ni and Ichi you'll probably die. Keep poison pots up, and bring a stack of remedies. I have gotten double resists with 310 total skill, so I normally macro in staves for enfeebles now. Oh, and the range of the breath is only 10' but if you're going up the hill run to at least 13' I've been hit with it for not going far enough due to mapping.
