Check out the link I posted earlier about the Mya CUTY. It's about as cheap as it gets for really good quality. If you end up wanting to do a double hose setup like I did, it'll run you about the same as it did me ($120). But it was worth every cent. By itself with just one hose it obviously gets even cheaper.

As of the buzz thing, as far as i know only new people to shisha get it, once you get used to the inhaling you stop getting that head rush. I think you get it from the lack of oxygen your brain gets if you inhale to fast and without normal breathing in between the inhales.

a word of advice though. don't get used to it to much. Have one maybe 3 settings of shisha a week max. that thing is brutal on your lungs. I've seen way to many people go to the hospitals cause of the Shisha.

Well shit Kaz, i'll go hop on a plane right now lol.

The buzz you feel from shisha isnt from the nicotine or lack of oxygen, its actually from inhaling large amounts of burning sugar in the molasses as the shisha basically "melts" like its supposed to when the coals are set up right.

To me, thats one of the best part. I cant do hookah unless I have friends or people with me who are enjoying it too. I would feel kind of lame going through setting it all up and managing it just to sit alone. So that factor right there is pretty much what divides up my hookah sessions.

Does anyone have any favorite liquids to put in the base besides water? I've tried orange fanta and sprite, and both turned out pretty well.

I realize this thread is dying some, but I know there are alot more people out there who dont even know this thread is around lol.


Anyway, tonight me and an old friend mixed grape and skittles, and had an orange soda base. For those people like Kazamaki who have lost the ability to get a really nice buzz from shisha, I think I may have solved the problem. While smoking we actually had a bag of skittles sitting around and ate those. Not only did it make the smoke taste even better, but we had probably the biggest buzz ive felt since I started and it was to the point where we had to stop completely just to quit laughing so hard at stupid shit and actually stand up straight. A great night and definatly something that is happening again when more people are around.

That's so strange, I've never heard of anyone using anything but water in the base. Wouldn't putting soda make it kind of hard to clean?

Nah you can clean it out immediately afterwards, sure if you leave it laying around for a while it'd be a mess lol...

But on topic my friend a couple weeks ago invited me over to smoke some Strawberry out of a Hookah and it was an overall good time of course the experience was mixed with a little bit of Fire Dro but meh.

And yeah, as long as you clean the individual pieces after youre done (like you should be anyway) theres no problem. Things like orange soda go great with shisha. You get the tingle of carbonation on the roof of your mouth with your smoke and of course it helps with flavor, but very subtly. Might sound disgusting to some, but another popular base ive seen is milk diluted with some water (So it doesnt bubble up into the hose > < ) and things like peaches or banana flavored shisha to create a sort of "cream" flavor to it. I havent tried it yet but theres some who wont have it any other way.

I'll post what I think later, trying to scrounge some people up as they get off work :3 I got lucky. The head shop that I buy all my shisha from (who also supplies the hookah bar across the street from it called Jasmines) just got a new shipment in and blue mist happened to be on the shipment order this time around.

My roommate bought a tin of Blue Mist the last time we were on Steinway, and all we've been smoking since is that and the Nakhla two apples (I'm a man of tradition, what can I say). Blue Mist is easily the best flavor I've ever had.

The bar we go to will put the shisha in either an apple or a pineapple for a few bucks extra, and we've found that watermelon shisha in a pineapple tastes amazing. Grape, too.

Also, I went on a cruise this summer, met a Turkish waiter and we started talking about shisha. The next day, he gave me 3 boxes he bought in Egypt. It's probably all the same shit, but it was still the best I'd had up to that point.
