    Customer Support Survey (01/07/2009)

    Starting today, we will be conducting a comprehensive survey covering all aspects of PlayOnline customer support. Your feedback regarding such features as GM support and the Information Center is invaluable to us in our effort to improve these services. We would greatly appreciate it if you could spare a few minutes to share your thoughts.

    The survey will be available from Wednesday, January 7th at 1:00a.m. (PST) to Tuesday, January 13 at 1:00a.m.

    I'm curious what's going on about with this. Personally I told them they need to give us more ability to give more input on the game or ask them for more information on the game.

    Actually, what typically happens is LOTS of people complain and then said company ignores the results of the survey as "the work of a few vocal complainers".

    Enjoy your shitty customer support.

    I filled it out. Seems a bit over the top with the questions about GMs, don't see them changing much there, so little point in asking. GMs do a good enough job for what little they are allowed to do.

    These questions are important, and I think everyone should fill out:

    Are you unsatisfied with any elements of the "Server Maintenance" section of "Information"? Please select the answer that best applies.

    Are you unsatisfied with any elements of the "General" section of "Information"? Please select the answer that best applies.

    Best answers here are:

    The updates are slow.
    There is too little information.
    Necessary information is not included.

    I did exactly the same and went into more detail about this in the summary section along with my other griefs with support from this game, including Dev interaction with the NA community and unwillingness to work with community for certain mobs and rather leave them unbeaten, waiting years for someone to beat it as they think it should be beaten.

    It's the second time they make a survey about customer support... They should do one about what we want ingame. I know there's a suggestion box where you can send them any idea you have but I'm sure a lot of ppl never did so because they're too lazy or don't know where is it. Putting a survey on the POL page would give them more feedback.

    Complaining on BG =/= legitimate responses to an SE initiated survey.

    Honestly, while there are many in-game issues people have with the game still (AV and PW being the most glaring), SE has made huge, if slow, advances in improving just about everything about the game itself and it's support. They have at least started listening even if they still have an incredibly patronizing attitude about game design.

    The only time you get the "few vocal complainers" response is when you get the child-like responses that you see on places like game forums. If people actually take the time to fill out the survey, or submit feedback through the legitimate channels in decent grammar and with intelligence, it would difficult to ignore the real complaints people have.

    The problem is the we are playing (I am not even sure how much you play anymore) a game with a relatively large population of children and young adults. Although even when I was young I never acted in a manner close to some of the worst whiners on BG, this younger group seems to be unable in many cases to act in a mature manner when dealing with making proper responses to actually issues, in game or in real life in general. This is not limited to FFXI at all, nor to BG, it's just a general observation of the generation after mine. As much as I complain about BG sometimes, it is a paragon of calm and placidity compared to some other game forums, e.g. WoW.

    LOL. Well, I am a little older than my friends in game (not THAT much older, but a couple of years) and I get joked a bit about that. You add that with my propensity for making long and overly specific guides for gear, my penchant for seeking the moral high ground and lecturing about it, and my long diatribes of my hatred of anything close to RMT, add a little late-night TV internet CD selling guy and you get what you see here.

    It was made by the leader of my Dynamis LS who is a close friend in game, and it was just too clever and funny to ignore. I may be a lot of things, but I can enjoy self-detrimental humor just as much as anyone else. Izman, btw, is my best friend in the game.

    Remember those that use firefix (All of you right >.>) to allow the website to use java. Or, like me, you will finish and try to click done and it will not work. If you fill everything out before allowing java you just lost all your work >.>
