Oh god, I just had a horrible idea...

...if we're really only halfway through the storyline, and looking at the campaign armor sets + previous mission rewards.

I don't know why it never hit me before, but I bet the Campaign bodies will be the rajas/suppa/ethereal type rewards of WoTG.

It's the only way they could make some of them as ridiculous as the stats suggest they will be, without everyone being "loldynamis, fuck that, I'll just go masturbate on quadavs and get a surcoat +1! HAH!"

Anyone else thought something like that?

If they are the WOTG rewards, at least the WOTG missions are like TOAU. You could complete them in a week or so tops with little effort. Assuming you keep up on your Campaign Rank I don't think it would be too bad. Although it would force me to do the missions, since I don't think i've done anything past 2. >_> Although I'm hoping they do have some pretty sweet Stats, at least I'd love to see the Iron Ram Body since it looks so awesome. :3

It's possible, sure. I don't put anything past SE. The only saving grace is that it wouldnt fit in with their whole "recieve x accessory" reward system they've been using since the beginning of time.

    Campaign Bodies

I doubt it, since the rest of the set is obtained by trading in Allied Notes. The bodies should be obtained the same way.

Why have they been holding them back so long though, gotta wonder about that.

Plus, how do you make the I.R. body NOT broken?

All I can figure is Def 49 Hp +29 Enm +5 MDB +6 and the Set bonus, but still.

Some of these pieces might have really buff stats, and would make a lot of sense as a mission reward.

What are we going to do with another ring, or earring?

    AU/CoP

Belt or mantle, please. Long as they're suitably epic in stats.

Edit: their = they're. I fail at spelling this early.

They wanted to add them with the highest rank, and they want to add the highest rank with the Northlands[S] region. They're just taking their time developing it.

This theory doesn't make any sense. Say you complete the Bastokan line of missions, why would they let you choose the Iron Ram body? Unless you mean complete all three branches, which even then I doubt they'd give you anything other then stuff you get along the way.

AN bodies will come out when the northlands are added. SE said this directly. And most mission rewards aren't "godly", they're ok for the most part with one or two options being excellent. If anything you'd prolly get a accessory piece for finishing WotG stuff, ones which would be independant of the nations

In one of the multitude of interviews after fanfest, someone asked when we were getting the bodies. Their response was that they wanted to have their release coincide with the addition of new areas to Campagin (coughnorthlands) which would be in the next few updates.

No, I seriously doubt that the bodies will be the end reward. We're getting rings with Campaign bonuses. Maybe earrings if they really want to spice things up.

I wouldn't eliminate the possibility of the 3 items we have to choose from being related to each of the 3 nations. That's really not beyond Square-Enix's cruelness. But yes, if you read the interviews the addition of bodies was clearly stated to be at the same time as the Northlands[S] campaign areas.

    Final reward will be:

    http://zs.ffshrine.org/album/ocarina...ot-ocarina.jpg

which will let you play "Ocarina Medley"

which in turn will produce this every 24 hours:

    http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q...the_future.jpg

this works off course only when you are in the past :D

Doesn't fit with CoP and TAU rewards.
CoP was a ring that scaled past lvl 30 : like the missions.
TAU was a ring with "Assault" stats, since one of the focus' of that expansion was Assault.

Zilarts wasn't even gotten after beating the expansion: they added it after the fact with an optional quest.

I'm gonna echo what others have said: the WoTG reward will have Campaign: Something something on it.

The body armors, whilst I doubt they'll be the final reward for the storyline completion, will probably have zOMG stats, but be all "Campaign: Onry". :/
I don't have any hard evidence for this, but looking at the trend of "specific events onry" on items that SE seem to be currently tripping on, I would be highly surprised was it any other way.

I'm just wondering how the heck they're going to finish up the storyline. Granted I'm no FFXI historian but I can't see it ending with the defeat of the Shadowlord because wouldn't that end the war which the whole expansion revolves around?

Personally I can see the final reward for the expansion just being the Jeuno Flag but as far as accessories go I would have to bank on neck or back because an ammo would kinda screw over Rng/Cor.

Campaign only makes the most sense, and to be honest, needs to be this way. By constantly adding rare/ex equipment, they will eventually destroy an entire aspect of the game: crafting. Yes, I'm speaking very selfishly, but crafting is the one system that's basically been stagnant for years now, with little crappy additions (hi2u signboards) that dissappoint more than satisfy. Making body pieces that might make AH'able pieces obsolete would likely be the deathknell for many crafts (I'm looking at you Haubergon among others).

I don't mind rewards for expansions....but in my opinion only the ZM and CoP rewards actually required serious work. DM is infinitely more of a challenge than AN (especially when DM was released), and CoP was probably the most rewarding feeling of accomplishment I've had in the game (finished pre-adjustments like no EXP loss, etc.). Personally I would like to see another ring that's campaign only- this still preserves some ring market (more than rajas/tamas/sattva did) and forces you to make choices- can't have 3 equipped at once! Or....make a ranged slot option of some sort, assuming they would remember to make it not throwable.

There are 4 AN sets. Windurst has two.

Why? None of the other pieces do. They're going to give a partial set bonus which stacks with other pieces and that's about it.

This expansion has a new villian outside of the Shadowlord players have to deal with, one that's altering history and affecting the timeline. While the storyline heros deal with the Shadowlord, we players will have to deal with an even bigger threat behind the scenes.

And the Jeuno Flag is already in game, it's the reward for finishing up the current missions.

There's no way in hell any of the bodies will rival the Haubergeon or even the Scorp Harness. Even now, after being out for years, they're still both viable and useful endgame pieces depending on your build. That's not to mention their HQs, which are top of the line pieces. And crafted rings, for the most part, have already been replaced.

I'm sure Rngs, Cors and soloing Thfs would love that.

    Neck slot or gtfo.

    And PUP, BRD, THF, etc.

Necks/Waist/Back wouldn't likely be useful to melees as the standard options are really difficult to beat. Mages also have excellent gear choices in those slots too.

Rings and Earrings are the easy choice. Besides with the community becoming more and more multi-job oriented, continually adding the same reward slot for missions allows those people to get endgame rewards for all of their jobs.

Also with regard to killing crafting, personally I think they specifically chose rings and earrings as reward slots because you DO have two of each and thus it has a lesser impact.

Way to quote me, then reply with nothing relevant to what I said, good job.
The rewards for finishing these missions will probably be either Campaign only or activate under Sigil. Either way, the expansion lacks any endgame content besides SCNM, which is impossible to get anyone to do, so the items will most likely be useless until the Walk of Echos adds something fun to do.
