Great episode, been a while since I've said "No, don't you dare do it!" during a TV show in a long time.

Agent Moss is really getting under my skin though. President is still in possible danger and we still want to do things "by the book"...yeah ok that's worked out so well thus far. "Jack just helped save the president...let's book him and suspend the agent trying to do the right thing"...please. Hopefully this means Renee and Jack go on a rampage of epic proportions though.

Also, holy shit, the president's daughter is a vindictive bitch.

Honestly, if a sole source of "key intel" was as important as Ryan Burnett... wouldn't you have swarms of security surrounding him both inside and outside of the room, not to mention blocking all of the access points to him? It's hilarious how flawed some things this season have been, such as how when they increased the threat level they failed to increase security in the white house and in particular around the president... you would have figured this would be the FIRST place they increase security.

I just have to keep reminding myself I watch 24 for Jack Bauer, not the plot loopholes

I, as you can tell by my posts in this thread, have been a huge outspoken critic of the writing this season. That said, I understood and was ok with them leaving Jack alone with Burnett because if anyone was in the room with him, Burnett wouldn't have been afraid that Jack was going to beat the shit out of him. Once again though, loltechnology working out perfectly for whoever was using it.

Only episode this season I didn't scoff at once

Whatever concerns I had with the first half of the season, Monday's episode completely made up for it with awesomeness.

I'm sad about Bill (noooo), but Jack will avenge him. Hopefully they won't go the "OMG JACK WENT ROGUE GET HIM" route that the FBI/CTU/CIA/DoHS does every single season, and they actually let him get all badass like he's supposed to be.

My only complaint at this point is the blatant conservative commentary on torture, and how they make anyone with an opposition to the idea appear weak or feeble. Guess I can't expect much more from FOX, though.

On the surface it does seemingly condone it, but I don't think its that simplistic and I don't think Kiefer who isn't a conservative would have been playing the role this long if it was an outright affirmation of it. I think if anything Bauer's worldview isn't that torture should be legal, it's that if necessary he is willing to sacrifice his freedom to commit a crime that stands the potential of stopping a larger crime.

I wouldn't condone torture on people whose guilt/innocence is in doubt, but say you knew that somebody planted a bomb somewhere and you had him in custody and time is running out. I'm all for skinning the fucker and making them squealllllllllll.

I loved the line where Renee said this situation probably could have been under control if the gov't just stopped getting in Jack's way and let him do his job.

I think they made the right call. It was too soon at that point for them to hook up. Also:

I was just thinking this when the assassin who killed the senator and who was supposed to be "really good" missed him from short range with a semi-automatic weapon before Bauer went through the glass
