I kind of wish they didn't kill Kurtwood Smith off last night, he had what became an interesting character and they took him in a really awesome direction right before he got shot that they could have used later/next season when Jack's inevitably in trouble w/ the po po again...

Every time I get the impression that Jack Bauer is about to kill a bitchload of people, I have to spend the next 15 minutes of 24 in the company of characters I fucking despise. This series is giving me a serious case of blue balls. It better fucking deliver once the guns start blazing.

All I can say is thank God Tony is still alive. I almost shit myself when they had him at gunpoint. A friend sent me a text message saying "Nooo" after watching the episode last night and I couldn't watch it until this morning, and he knows Tony is my favorite character, so I assumed the worst.

I agree, the second I heard "Police" and not "FBI" I knew he was fucked. I completely hated his character in the previous episodes, fell in love with him when he had that conversation with Jack, and then they kill him off. Damn you 24 writers, stop killing off all our favorite characters.

If I remember correctly Larry Moss called metro PD to his house before FBI was able to respond. So it made sense to me that the police were there first.

We already know Jack will be back for Season 8, so I wonder whats going to happen now that he's been infected... they did say it would take 1-2 days for the disease to kill a person, sounds like just enough time for Day 8 if it takes places immediately after Day 7, unless they come up with some other explanation on how he lives.

I think the writers strike killed that and we got Redemption instead, Jack's back for Season 8 but the co-creator/Kiefer said next one might be the last day at the beginning of this season

But seriously, what did you mean by that? I hope the next season isn't day 2 of this drama. I'd really like a fresh start. Not that this season is bad, I love it (the plot is good and the pace is what sets it apart from the last few seasons). But it'd be good to start anew. It'd suck if Jack went out like a bitch to Crutzfeld Jakobs (sp).

Meaning, that in the promotional interviews they gave at the beginning of this season, they said they felt the show had progressed naturally and that they are thinking that the next season should be the final one.

Gotcha. I love this show but wouldn't mind it coming to a well wrapped up ending. Don't string it along until it blows, finish on top and I agree that one more season could do that nicely.

When Jack goes, he needs to take a whole terrorist cell with him. Like 100 or so should be awesome enough.

As for the status of Jack, my guess is that he isn't really sick. My guess is that Jack has the CDC telling everybody he is sick so he can figure out the leak in the FBI that keeps spilling info to Hodges.

I'm more at ease with this explanation that one that results in Jack getting an antidote at the last minute.
