Seems to be the trend from season 5 onwards.. just progressively worse and worse story telling as the day goes on

I'm normally a sucker for good action flicks/shows without caring too much for details. But this season has sucked, hard. This whole shit seems rushed.

I think the second half of this season has been a big improvement from the second half of last season, which was just ridiculous.

Maybe they should start thinking about developing a single antagonist to screw with Jack Bauer for the entire 24hrs, instead of having Jack move to the next level every 4hours. Or maybe the show should become 12 instead of 24, because that seems to be the amount of time they can handle to keep things interesting.

I'm not as cynical about the show as the past few posters though, so far I feel like the series is back on track after having jumped the shark last season. When 24 is good, its damned good, but when its bad, its just laughably predictable.

I am really disappointed that Tony turned out the way he did too, because I already had to seriously suspend my disbelief at the fact that he was alive at all. Who knows, there are still 3 (I think) episodes left, plenty of time for him to do another 180, though I don't know what the hell could happen to redeem him at this point.

The only thing that is beginning to irk me, and I tend to overlook this because its Jack motherfking Bauer, is that he has technically, unless I missed it, spent this entire day acting like a federal agent without actually being a federal agent. Was he at any point given actual security clearance to know half the shit that has been going on, or has everyone pretty much just reached the consensus that Jack Bauer is the greatest agent on the planet and everyone else is incompetent next to him? There have been a couple of moments where it genuinely felt like Jack Bauer had more authority as a civilian than the actual people in authority, which is both hilarious and sad.

I guess I'll be the rebel here and say that I don't think that it's been as bad as you're all saying. Sure this season has had it's lol-moments, but it's eons better than last season, and I'll take anything I can get after that (except Janice -- fucking hate her).

Understandable to have some kinks in the chain with the writer's strike and all. Someone said on here that if you ignore those plot holes that it is definately more enjoyable; I'd have to agree with that and say that I've enjoyed this season for the most part. Some episodes have been irritating but for the most part I've enjoyed it. Really, I think the worst part was the delay between Redemption and Season 7. That was the most irritating of all ;/ Oh, and fuck Janice.

If they did it really fast I'd love it haha. The mole plots are always so drawn out and fucking retarded, but it would be ok if it were something like:

5 minutes into an episode Janice walks into an apparently empty server room, whips out her cellphone, frantically dials a number, and says, "They're moving on your position, you need to move the canister." Then Jack just comes around the corner because he was taking his seizure meds in private and just goes, "HOW DARE YOU BETRAY PRESIDENT PALMER" and shoots her in the face because he's half insane at this point.

Although I enjoyed the episode, I let out a huge "hah, figures" when the husband was spying on Kim. It's almost like the writers are being playful with the long-term fanbase having Kim THROW herself into the arms of the bad guys... just like seasons of old.
