the show is called 24 not 48. How the fuck are they going to leave the 2 major plot lines unresolved and then pick up the story in like 6months-1yr time next season. Better be a Redemption style tv movie...
Hmm...
Spoiler: show
Lackluster.
what a waste of my life, this is season 5 all over again with the shadow corp ran by jacks brother. This season started out great and ended as a shitbomb. Now next season is going to be season 6 all over again with bad plot lines from the previous season and we'll find out there was a bigger fish behind it all.
what a peice of shit, this season had the potential to be the best season ever but they fucked it up with jack getting infected which really killed the 2nd half of the season along with failivia's plot.
Tony lived, I'm happy. I agree it wasn't the "OMFG" ending we're used to with 24, it was more like a prequel to Season 8, but not as bad as you guys are making it out to be >_>.
Im prolly the only one that thought day 7 ended brilliantly.
Outside of Tony's status being in costody, but otherwise unknown...theres a lot of awesome stuff going on.
You have this organization, which is prolly the same group Graham Bauer and Jack's father were parts of, which has now been linked to almost every major event since Palmer's death.
You have Renee, who has become Jack in so many ways now, interrogating head of said organization. She also could have had such an awesome line when Janice told her "It's not what Larry would have wanted" and Renee should have said "but it's what Jack would...". But regardless, shes awakened that side of her and thats awesome for the story now too.
You have Kim, Chloe, and Morris still around, and I have the feeling CTU is going to be recommissioned. President Taylor is likely to still be around, and theres been an interesting parallel made between her and Jack both being true patriots in sacrificing so much for benefit of country.
Jack is obviously still going to be around, and a part of next year cause i doubt Renee with/vs Tony can carry an entire season alone.
So outside of everything not being wrapped up nicely in 24 hours, I liked where the show has grown this past season and enjoyed where it ended. They've laid groundwork for a lot more to be done, which after season 5 I was worried they were done.
Really pissed with the cliffhangers... Fuck me with a street sign... See you in 6-12 months -.- Fucking fucks.
^ I completely agree
Thought the season left a lot of loose ends open, the creators have a ton of ways to go with the new season along with a bunch of characters to do it with.
Newsflash, they won't be using those 'ways to go' in any original ways.
You ready?
Spoiler: show
Fuck this show. Someone pull a Phantom Edit and salvage maybe 6-7 decent episode's worth of footage out of this season.
From what I've heard, the next season will have the host from the movie Slumdog Millionaire who is on a peacekeeping mission in the US. President Taylor and Renee are set to return in S8, and Jack as well, if he doesn't go to prison for that headbutting incident IRL.
I just don't have a lot to say. Meh.
Edit: FUCK, what a terrible waste of # 3000. BRB reserving this for something.
Your 3000th post being rubbish is hardly surprising given that you've accumulated 3000 posts.
I'm pretty pissed that there are so many loose ends, I liked 24 if only for knowing that most of the main plot is going to get wrapped up by episode number 24. I guess they couldn't really wrap up whether or not jack dies of his disease even given a full "season" of 24.
I felt it was pretty lackluster, but overall not horrible. I'm glad they didn't kill Tony as he's probably the best actor on the show (he was sensational in the last scene with Alan Wilson).
Almost looks certain Renee will get kicked out of the FBI so Jack and her will probably get together.
Kim Bauer is a dumb bitch, I don't care if she saved the laptop... this was poorly done. It's as if she has never learned from the past.
Overall, I might tune in for next season, but I'm not waiting for it to happen in the same way I am with LOST.
I thought last night was a good "double episode" but in no means a finale. I'm expecting a 2 hr (Theatrical would be nice or just TV) movie released to wrap up this season.
Kiefer was interviewed about last nights finale, as well as what is to come in Season 8. Not too big of a spoiler but,
Spoiler: show
Tony, Wilson, Jack, Olivia, the President...are all in DC. The next season is being filmed in New York...and has a new "realistic" threat. They have to conclude all the open ended stories somehow...gogo TV movie!
Just finished up the season, didn't think it was as bad as some of you are making it out to be. Yeah, it was predictable, but 24 has been predictable for quite a while now.
I thought the President and Renee were particularly good additions to the cast, hope they stick around for the next season. What happened with Tony was predictable, but at least it was somewhat redeeming.
I thought most of the plot was tied up with the ending, if not directly, then implicitly. Olivia is obviously going to jail, Jack is obviously going to survive because of the experimental treatment.
100 bucks says Kim dies during the surgery and jack lives, and he goes batshit insane next season.
I was half-expecting Olivia to proposition Ethan for sex to keep him quiet.
One thing that needs to be cleared up. Did someone other than the hired hitman kill Hodges? Or was it really that he went ahead with the kill anyway even though he didn't receive payment?
That's probably something we'll find out for sure next season.
