If you missed season 5, none of what is happening right now with the Tony/Jack plot will make any sense or have any impact.

I really hope they don't kill Renee on the simple basis that she's hot as hell. The President's son's girlfriend whose name I can't recall is nice too.

Oh, and the storyline is great, too.

    Renee is fucking smoking.

I love seeing Tony and Jack working together again, throw in Bill and Chloe and you're golden. Season 3/4's cast was the best to me with Bill/Michelle/Tony, so I love seeing those players back in action again, all together.

Semi-related, though it's fairly old (from after season 6 ended):

Random info on when they're doing a 24 movie and if Jack's going to die in it. Kinda interesting.

By the way, I don't know if anyone cares but I decided to try and figure out the times of each of the seasons. All of the information was recovered from Wikipedia.

Season 1: Senator Palmer is running for President. It must be an election year, let's say 2000, and sometime in the summer/fall.
Season 2: Palmer is President for over a year, so it's 2001.
Season 3: Three years after Season 2, and it's during the Presidential debates. This actually fits, and it should be October 2004.
Season 4: It's 18 months after Season 3, which puts it in April 2006. Keeler is President until his plane crashes and Logan is sworn in.
Season 5: 18 more months have passed, which makes it December 2007. Logan is still President.
Season 6: 20 months have passed after Season 5. Whoever Logan's replacement was (since he must have chosen one in this time) lost the 2008 election to Wayne Palmer, who is now President.
Redemption: Inauguration Day, so the year must be 2013. President Daniels lost his reelection campaign to Taylor (who, interestingly enough, would be a Republican, right?).
Season 7: An indeterminate amount of time between Redemption and Season 7. At least 3-4 months have passed. I'm assuming that Taylor is still in the first year of her Presidency.

    There's a couple inconsistencies I think
    Spoiler: show
it's been six years since Tony "died", but he mentions in the show that he was working with the terrorist cell for three years
, but otherwise the timeframes are actually pretty solid.

Just finished the first four episodes (late, I know), and I must say I have a few gripes: what was the point of disbanding CTU only for the FBI to do the exact same thing? Hell, they even fleshed out their office characters like CTU's -- Janis/Chloe, Sean Hillinger/Adam Kaufman and S1 Tony, Agent Moss/George Mason, etc.. Also, the flight control set was the poorest excuse for a set I've ever seen lol... dimmed soundstage with 3 tables of radar and ~10 chairs? You're joking? But the BIGGEST gripe I have is the fucking MOLE shit again. They have been using that angle since Nina, and my god it is so tired and dead, especially in this show.

Phew, that being said... I'm really enjoying the new season lol. It's definitely not my favorite season, but it's still good TV. See you monday night. =)

Day 7 is looking good so far, however I heard the explanation of Tony's death like:

Tony: I was dead for 10 minutes. Then this guy who was sort of "keeping an eye on me" since the incident had me revived with super doctors, and he was henceforth my brother. We did terrorist activities. That is until he got involved in something SUPER really bad, so I formed a quick CTU gang and we are here to save the world.

    Jack: Sounds legit let's roll.

Seriously, rofl. Even if a person could live after 10 minutes of being dead, you'd be severely brain damaged for life.

Silent ticker at the end usually represents a significant characters death, right? Am I missing something?

In the past it usually has. But they did it after Tony's "death" too I thought, so I'm not buying it this time.

The silent clock had her breathing still, but yeah, it's usually for a major character's death. Ryan Chapelle, Edgar, and some others I can't recall. I'm going to assume she's still alive though.

That entire scene creeped me out lol, her staring helplessly as they buried her.

She is a little to big to be dead so early, even by 24 standards of killing off characters. They're building her up tp be too major a character to die right now, if at all. Silent clock was used more for a "could she?" factor imho...as it has been used that way once or twice before.

In the past it usually has. But they did it after Tony's "death" too I thought, so I'm not buying it this time.
    From wiki:

Show-runner Howard Gordon explained that Tony's "uncertain fate" left the door open for his return[7] and cited the lack of a "silent clock" as a deliberate move to keep his death ambiguous.
And now from the 24 Wikia for Season 7...

    Day 7 12:00pm-1:00pm 01:00:00pm
Jack and Tony begin to bury Renee Walker after Jack supposedly killed Renee. Her face is covered with dirt and her breathing is heard during the silent clock.
Something tells me that since the silent clock is sometimes related to the split screen before the scene the silent clock actually appears in, that either the presidents' husband or his sons girlfriend get the axe.

And again, can someone tell me the name of that blond FBI analyst now? I still cant find who she is, and I have a feeling she is the FBI mole now.

I know the silent clock is usually a tribute for dying characters, but I think tonight it was more simply to set the mood. It was a tense moment, as Renee realized that Jack/Tony are trustworthy after all, and that the two of them need to remain undercover. The music helped the audience to worry about her fate.

Either way, there's zero doubt that she's still alive.
    Spoiler: show
Jack purposefully missed (though he did graze/deafen her, hence the blood), and I imagine the next episode will include her tailing Jack and Tony. I dunno, I didn't watch the preview.

A true silent clock is shown when a character undoubtedly dies (Edgar, Ryan Chapelle, George Mason, etc), but tonight they had her breaths underneath the tarp instead of the ticking sound (they did this with the heartbeat for Tony's "death").

    - Great episode tonight, but the black (sorry) wife was a TERRIBLE actress... like seriously.
    - Also on the boat of the people who think Erica (blonde analyst) is the mole.
    - Scenes for next week look pretty good!

I think it's Janis, to be perfectly honest.

I wonder if they throw a twist between Renee and her boss's relationship, watch it end up being they're related somehow and that's why he obviously cares so much about her. Or at the least, I hope it's more than a simple "they dated in the past/are secretly dating" thing.

I'm also really getting into that secret service agent's character who's been with the president's husband. Yeah we kinda knew he was a mole already (wasn't that shown in the 24:Revolution?), but still cool. Hope they don't kill him off too quickly.

Something else I just thought of...When the FBI got that clip of the phone call, shouldn't that have tipped them off there was a mole in the FBI too? I know they didn't have the beginning part of the conversation, but the FBI did hear that the bad guys found out what Renee did and how much was told to her, so would think from that they should realize someone is leaking information.
