Here is a parse for all puppetmasters.

The party setup was War, Sam, Drg, Pup, Brd, Rdm

Look at the summary and do some simple adding. Take a big guess who came out on top... but add pup and master and woosh pupftw!!

I've included pics of the war I parsed against and note his gear. He is dual wielding a Maneater and a Ridill in case you want to know. He is wearing a W.Turban, Ares Cuirass, Byakko Haidiate and I forget the rest.

I removed the names of the players since i haven't asked their permission.

I can't wait for all the naysayers and other chime-ins QQing about how my parse is invalid.

I don't really understand what you're trying to prove, besides the fact that you won a parse against possibly less-than-average melees. If you're trying to say PUP is a worthwhile job, then you'd need a larger sample size in many parties. This just seems like a bragging post and nothing more, to be honest.

PUP doesn't suck in merits anymore. Get Stringing Pummel and some more haste gear so you won't have to wait for a party with gimp WARs, DRGs and SAMs before you can release an impressive parse on Greater Colibri.

That WAR is making another foolish TP choice outside of the body in that neckpiece. But yeah, all of those melee stats are rather shockingly low <_<

Your parse isn't invalid, but all it proves is that you can outparse some very gimp DDs.

Averaging 800 rampages is pretty crap with a brd, and ares body isn't even a good piece to melee in with sushi, let alone on birds where he is probably eating no food at all, tell him to get a haub(+1) and level his pld if he hasn't so he can get some use out of the ares.

The sam WS average is also appauling unless he was using soboro which i very much doubt.

All you have proven is that a fairly average pup can outparse other gimp melees. This doesn't mean pup is a worthwhile job although it probably can perform acceptably in a merit party with good gear.

Some of the drg on fenrir are epicly bad.

Hell, most pickup DDs are. Naturally I don't flag for merits anymore :D

No offense, but yea, like everyone else said, those are some pretty gimp DDs, especially the DRG, which had the lowest melee acc of all the DDs.(How do you have less acc as drg than an ares body ridill war?)

There is no QQ'ing about it. YOu beat some gimp DDs. Seriously, I had a higher penta average than that as lv 74 drg leeching my lv 75 and its a birds pt that is barely making 17k/hr.

Even considering that the other DD's weren't in their most optimal accepted gear, neither was the OP.

They're all pretty much on the "Average" part of the scale if you ask me. Problem with this though, is given the WAR/DRG/SAM better gear, and more haste. they'd go a LOT further, espeically because Pet's don't get bard buffs, or any buffs for that matter.

Can pup be good in merits? Yes. It can. Is it "zamg, lez do 25k/h onry pt's", good? no. I <3 my PUP, but given the same situation I probably would of came monk. o.o/

To be fair, I'll jump on both sides.

Starting with the PUP.

The gear you listed. I had one major issue with one piece: Hades Sainti.
Why? Wagh is far better for the ACC and Attack on it. Hades only for soloing on PUP.

You just need some Haste gear such as Wally Turban, Swift Belt, and, if somehow possible, Barbossa Legs (but this can be a bit harder).

Also, Rajas? ... Right.


Now, to jump on the other side.
I am impressed how you parsed with those likely to be "ok" melee (can't say much about the WAR, unsure what to think). Yes, you will always get criticism from other melee jobs about PUP out parsing their jobs. This happened often during my parses with "good" (not amazing) geared people even in endgame events.

Regardless, even "if" they were bad melee, you still parsed well even with your choice of gear. If you chose your gear a bit better then you could be on even ground with the good geared people if not do better than some/most of them. Not to mention unlocking Stringing Pummel would definitely show an improvement as well.

Best way to properly parse yourself is to get 2 brds, a rdm, and 2 melee friends (that you know what there merits are (and they are honest about it lol) and are well geared.) and do it that way...

You can parse a pickup PT, and the person might have good gear, but shit all merits etc.

Just because you can outparse 2 strangers, doesn't mean you do awesome dmg. Some pts I do 50+% of the dmg, but the others in the pt are gimps. Doesn't mean I'm pro, just means I care enough to actually be well geared/merit myself correctly/do my job to the best of it's abilities.

I'd rather see you post a parse of you having your ass raped in total dmg %, but having consistant dmg rather than what people would assume a "lawlpup" would do.
