I guess the OP doesn't realize that parses like these, against obviously gimp/uneducated DD's, only hurt his crusade not help it. I mean average Penta Thrust in the 500's for DRG at Colibri with a Bard, was he using full AF (weapon too) or something? Christ my Asurans on Monk averaged that high without a Bard there.

For once I'd like to see a good parse for some of the less accepted merit jobs against above average DD's to see how they really stack up. Unfortunately all I ever see are ones like these which don't give a good idea how good they really are.

I couldn't agree more~ But it's a vicious cycle. The good DD's won't party with the less accepted jobs (generally), so we end up with ones like this. :/ Than the good DD's wanna see a parse against good DD's. Rinse, repeats as needed.

Edit; Tbh, if a PUP asked me to merit, I would. Just to see for myself the diference (considering I'm a MNK, so we have a similar dmg type, excluding the dmg from thier automaton~)

Gimp DRG also belong to confused/gimp player thread(obvious reasons)

Sam parse is..............you can also put him in the confused/gimp player thread temporary until you let us know the weapon hes using (soboro?)

As soon as I looked at the parse, and before reading anyone's comments, it's apparent that you were parsing against some sub-standard melee.

First point: you were pulling 17k exp/hour. Come out on top in a pt where you are getting 30k+ /hr and I'll be impressed.

Second point: All 3 of the DD you parsed against were subpar. I'm a samurai myself, and the things I noticed about the sam were 1) he was using kasha instead of gekko, and 2) he had about a 50/50 split in melee vs. WS damage. When I parse myself, I'm usually closer to 30/70 melee/WS. The 50/50 split also tells me he was not using Soboro, which means that his average WS damage of 690ish is pathetic.

The DRG is obvious. 1) no drakesbane, 2) WTF weak penta's. 500?! seriously? Even without merits, I'm having a hard time comprehending a drg being that bad unless they were purposely sucking.

The warrior: 1) melee'ing in Ares's cuirass... ok, I'll bite, wait... 2) maneater and ridill. Are you kidding me? How is someone with a ridill not smart enough to realize he needs a lot of accuracy to be able to hit with it? This is the same reason I get pissed when I see Ninja offhanding a kclub. All those swings don't do jack for you when you never land them.

Moral of the story: Your somewhat well-geared pup outparsed 3 seriously clueless DD by about 4%. Congratulations.

I really wish people would stop saying "30k/h" like it's something beyond extreme rarity with Relic DD's and outside healing.

Best I've gotten was 35k with 2 cor, brd, 3 DD, and 2 outside healers. None of the DD had relics.

when it comes to exp/hr, there are two points where numbers come from:

Exp, which can't be fudged (except by selectively poor memory) and
Time - which can be fudged. It's all a question of what you count as your time in pt... do you count the time travelling to camp? The all the time spent when someone goes "afk 5 min toes cold" and is gone for 10 min+? The time spent waiting on someone who dcs every 15 minutes? The time spent in pt seeking other members, or waiting for them to get to camp? There's all different kinds of ways to figure the /hr part of it. The best is when someone joins a pt, and two kills later states what the exp/hr is...

Imagine if you one shot a mob for 15 exp. you just soloed 54,000 exp/hr!!!

Anyway, just wanted to weigh in on something. I'm assuming "Komet" was the drg's wyvern. Based on the numbers i'm seeing there, it doesn't look as though the wyvern was out full time (which is odd for bird camp)... or if it was, that drg was really late in engaging each mob...

In any event, wanted to mention that with merits, drg's pet can (indirectly) receive brd songs (and other buffs). For what that's worth.

Puppetmasters Rejoice!!!

Here is a parse for all puppetmasters.

The party setup was War, Sam, Drg, Pup, Brd, Rdm

Look at the summary and do some simple adding. Take a big guess who came out on top... but add pup and master and woosh pupftw!!

I've included pics of the war I parsed against and note his gear. He is dual wielding a Maneater and a Ridill in case you want to know. He is wearing a W.Turban, Ares Cuirass, Byakko Haidiate and I forget the rest.

I removed the names of the players since i haven't asked their permission.

I can't wait for all the naysayers and other chime-ins QQing about how my parse is invalid.

You were on colibri, ate sushi, not the others. Anyway, Ohat and life belt are shit, turban and swift belt beat them whatever the accuracy pretty much. So you could have impressed us a lot more. Also, only lolplayer look down about pup. It's a job like another one and has its use, not the best in merit due to puppet unable to get songs,haste,protect etc. Inb4 "your melees were gimped, my relic <insert job> could beat you".

All I see is a subpar pup outdding subpar melees. I mean full AF2 is not exactly good gear. Imagine a MNK in full palhuwan, life belt and turban. Would you call it "somewhat well-geared monk ?".

As far as pup's go, I'd love to see Pchan's in action. I actually plan on lv'ing the job myself when I finish my usukane (need 15 and 35 body left). I won't have that pimp pair of hades+1, but other than that will look almost identical to yours Pchan.
