Any ideas for either slot?

    Set (ambitious version) is here:
    - FFXIAH.com
    Well this,...

is really good if you are like bastok and the nation thing is in effect and not in the expansion areas where it doesn't.

Also I think that Lamia Mantle +1 for +4 MDB is higher then -3% MDT unless it has a general DR associated with it(from what I hear 1 MDB is about -.9% MDT).

Dalmatica +1, yea, because everyone has one of those but still..
Also I would go with mermans rings for rings as they are better(minus shadow ring but thats rare)

    Also this over the belt,..

    http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/ff...t%27s_Sash.jpg

for neck I would prolly go with a Jeweled Collar, 10 all resist isnt half bad since your next does next to nothing,...

The legs is still a hole in the set, there has to be something for those,...

EDIT: If you meant for WHM then NVM the 2 cape suggestions,... I was thinking RDM....

If a level 20 WHM with 0 Enhancing skill casts Protect I on a level 75 toon it should wear prior to the same level 20 WHM with capped Enhancing skill casting Protect I on the same level 75 toon.

It doesn't really matter much though since I don't think I've ever heard of a lower level WHM with ludicrously poor Enfeebling skill casting buffs on a higher level player.
Enhancing magic skill doesn't affect the duration in any way. As for your merit party example, depending on what point you buffed and what your party members did in the half hour following can affect the duration. Any time spent in dialog with an NPC, gates, etc will pause the timer for buffs you have on you.

I'm talking about almost a minute here and the entire party's buffs, minus mine, dropped at once. Protectra V dropped, then a few seconds later, Shellra V dropped. Then about a minute later, my Protectra V and Shellra V dropped in order with the same delay. This was at the northern Mamool Camp and the NPC/Gate delay doesn't apply because even if the entire party went to town and came back, I buff before the party gets rolling. It wasn't lag. Maybe just a glitch?

I do distinctly remember reading somewhere that Enhancing skill affects duration of buffs. Now I have to find that shit.

Edit: Can't find it. This means I'm wrong.

Only duration it affects that I'm aware of is barspells if you're over 180 skill, don't remember how it's calculated though.

Saline Coat gives Magic Defense Bonus +50, although it deteriorates.

As per your request, I'll try some tests with my Blue Mage comparing Saline Coat against Saline Coat and Magic Defense Bonus job trait reducing damage from a Black Mage enemy. Does anyone know where I can find one that casts the same spell often?

So you're saying you're going to test it? Then why did you say last page that there was a cap without any sort of reason or justification? Let me save you the trouble: http://www.bluegartr.com/forum/1965356-post16.html The exact formula for CB is off, but it's close enough that a difference of 10 MDB would have been considerable. I'm sorry but nothing irks me more than people who jump into a thread and espouse incorrect or unsupported information or ridiculous speculation, and that seems to characterize the bulk of your posts since you registered here.

Worms in Aydeewa on the way to Hydra are good for testing magic damage reduction.

Because one instance of damage based on several assumptions is clearly solid proof.
I test most of what I believe to be true, and other information I get from members of my linkshell. Sometimes I just don't have time to test everything, but it makes sense and it's all just theoretical anyway, so why bother? If you're not going to contribute, don't post.

    Thanks Valyana.

i'm pretty sure the deteriorating over time is going to skew your results, maybe use a stopwatch and always cast 10 seconds into a quake casting or something so it's been active the same time period each spell

That's a good point. I believe the decay happens in ticks every 10 seconds, in which case the tests would be accurate as long as the spell is cast within 10 seconds of the enemy casting their spell. But this is another variable that needs to be tested.

How does MDB capping at 50 make sense? You have proof of a similar trait (ie: MAB) capping at 50? MDT is not similar in the sense it is a direct reduction and does not follow the 'decreasing returns' trend MDB and MAB show.

You spouted crap in the sorcerer's ring thread, flying in the face of actual testing and now you're stating stuff as fact with absolutely no proof behind it: show some research or don't bother.

Did I not just say I would test it?
Learn to take what people say on the internet as OPINION not FACT.

Look, reflecting on my post yesterday I realize I was unnecessarily dickish. But I think what I said does have an element of truth, that I hope you'll consider. You may say that what people post on the internet is opinion and not fact, but for the most part in this section of the forums, people who have questions come here and the expectation is that the information given will be accurate to the best of the poster's knowledge, and qualified for any uncertainty. There is a big difference between what you said, and saying "I've been told it's capped at +50, but I haven't tested it."

And I don't know why you would tell me, "If you're not going to contribute, don't post," because I think I have contributed to this topic, and many others on related questions. But I can understand if you said that as a result of the tone of my post.

    Magus's Roll

Another thing to toss out there, everyone is talking about Saline Coat, don't forget Corsair's have Magus roll with is a 20ish (average) bonus to MDB. We use it on gear/chariot in salvage. Is kinda nice.
