Why did the crowd sound like they disapproved of the cops handling of the situation (prior to the gunshot)? One guy yelled "let him go". It should have been obvious to them that the cops can't just ignore the crimes those men committed, and it would have been illegal and against protocol to have just "let them go" without at least getting their information and issuing a citation, or taking them down to the station, or whatever their plan was. They were doing their job, right up until the gunshot.

At least no additional police units were needed after the shot, given that they had enough cops already there (and the guy who did it was a cop himself).

After handcuffing him they think it's necessary to shoot him too I guess. Even if the officer thought it was a stun gun it was unnecessary as Oscar was already cuffed. Disgusting, that's cold blood murder.

I've been told the taser and gun actually feel really similarly...

I know cops are supposed to be able to handle even the most high pressure situations. But when you have all that you see in the video, from morons yelling stupid shit, to people shoving video cameras in your face, to 3-4 all resisting arrest or w/e, I could understand what happened. It doesn't make it right, he should still get manslaughter or w/e because that is such a costly mistake, but you can't watch the video and tell me he meant to shoot him.

This is not a typical case of douchebag cop. This was a cop doing his job up until he made a fatal mistake. This should incite sadness, not anger.

He shot the guy while he was laying face down on the ground. Even if he meant to shoot the guy with a Taser, it's still over kill at that point because how the fuck can you resist arrest when you're already on the ground with 2 cops on top of you? LOOK AT THE VIDEO. The guy is just laying there and he shot him. So "laying on the ground barely moving" is "resisting arrest" now?

(mind you, this is coming from a officers perspective, who have never used nor carried a taser)

-The suspect was resisting arrest, this is clearly shown in the video as it is taking 2-3 officers to try and restrain him.

-The officer takes his hand off the suspect, removes his firearm and blindly points down and fires a shot in a matter of seconds (FOTG PLEASE!...... Finger On The Guard), during that point you can see the other officer that was on top of the suspect start to lighten up on the suspect. Quite possible that the officer thought that he actually was using his stun gun..told the other officer to back away? Just note that if there is no skin/skin (or metal off the fabric) contact a taser will NOT effect the officer holding onto suspect.

-BART has only had tasers for a short period of time.... i'm gonna say this might have been a accident due to lack of training, and lack of experience using the taser.

-The officer has only been on for 2 years.... lacking experience again.

-Officers have a choice on where to wear their taser..... left side/right side....left leg/right leg.

-When ones adrenaline gets going, people don't usually think clearly.... if he is right handed, he might have been thinking to grab his taser, but natural instinct took over and he grabbed whatever was on his "primary" side.

-I do not see a murder charge coming out of this. However, I do see a manslaughter charge and some jailtime for this former officer.
