Where the fuck is my chocobo for my xbox mii?
Where the fuck is my chocobo for my xbox mii?
And because of poor people, we'll have to wait a little bit longer until the Xbox version is finished before we get it here in the states.
Proof that it's game over if party leader dies:

Battle against Adamantoise, Sazh is clearly alive but it's still lost.
Skip to 5:48, ignore the annoying guys talking in background.
If you keep watching the video there's another battle with Fang summoning Bahamut. Pretty cool but those people's voices are annoying as hell.
I think this was the last thing about FFXIII that I was going to watch before the EU release... time to stay away from this game for 3 months.
looks like a mass wooshing
Shit would be gay as hell if that's true. What would even be the logic behind that?
you can immediately replay the battle if lost? if the replay is true, than the pain of losing battles is lessened dramatically - no waiting for the title screen, reloading, and running back to the place of the fight.
Yes, it was said that you go back to the instant before you bump into mob(s). You can even avoid fighting them again if you want.
My only concern is that status effects like stop and death might become troublesome this way. Crisis Core was really annoying for that reason.
In CC you only control one character all the time and a lot of end-game mobs have additional effect: death on regular attacks giving you no clues at all, leading to inevitable game over if you're not prepared about that.
You're forced to keep an anti-death accessory or materia equipped all the time to avoid any risk, which I found to be annoying since it was a stupid limitation.
I suppose it would be really annoying if you almost killed an high HP mob, then it kills your party leader and you have to restart... hopefully there won't be many (if any) of them.
wow this game looks absolutely awful lol. I love the ff series, but i think i'll skip 13.
black dude can't stand still which is annoying as hell, and carries 2 ps2 lightguns, character models are terrible, leader dies and its game over, and the summons are fucking transformers. Took them forever to kill that one random mob in the above vid. I don't want to spend 20 min fighting a trash mob.
Looks beautiful as expected, but yeesh.
(sorry for rant, but i had high hopes for this and it looks like a total letdown).
I haven't been keeping up, but I heard you make a full recovery after each battle, so it's not unexpected that battles turned out this way. I understand what you're saying though because that was the same though for me (Oh gosh, this is going to be XP grinding for FFXIII...). On the other hand, it may mean they you fight less battles on the way to storyline battles?
which is a blessing and a curse. battles have no real weight or consequence if you're fully healed afterward, or have an immediate restart if you die. I actually don't like the idea of less battles, just for the fact i love to power my characters up to superhumans before a tough boss fight or what have you.
the offline FF have a fantastic pedigree though, so i'm sure it'll turn out great for the people looking forward to this one; i'm just disappointed by what i see personally is all.
We share that philosophy at least. I remember leveling my characters to about LV50 in FFX-2 before continuing after the first mission. I'm hoping that they make up for the duration fights with more XP (i.e. less fights needed to level up). Wait and hope is the best we can do.
