It would appear that GameStop's Italian portal has jumped the gun and revealed the contents of Final Fantasy XIII's hitherto-mysterious collector's edition.
Available now for pre-order at the price of € 80 ($110), the retailer says the pack includes a soundtrack, art book, prequel story, comic book and collection of art cards.
While the game is advertised on a European retail site, you'd expect the US edition to be similar, if not identical. If you're looking for pictures, sorry, there are no pics available.
Not worth it to me, probably going to stick with my normal edition. Expecially considering the sheer amount of games I'm going to have to fork out money for this year. >.>
$110? Fuck that. If it was like 10 bucks more or something I'd do it, but college student here, need my money ><
That's the EU pricing, and its equivalent in USD. Doubt that it will be the same price in the states.
I remember when the game was first announced there was talk about it costing about $110 in yen as an initial pricing. Wonder if that wasn't the Deluxe version also.
So I finally got to the part where I can finally explore a bit (when you can start getting side-missions)! It now feels like a completely different game not having to be forced on a fixed path >.>
I think I'm going to hunt some monsters for a few days...
That had better be a 100+ page artbook and 3CD soundtrack to command a 60% markup from typical console retail. Even by EU pricing standards that's hilariously bad. Compare the Tekken 6 bundle that included a wireless stick + 100p artbook.
Well, the soundtrack is 4CDs (really good too :3). No info on the artbook though.
On average PS3 games go for 65 euro and 360 games for 60 euro here in stores (sites undercut a bit). And alot of games had a 10 euro higher price for their special edition. So seeing 80 euro for this edition isn't so odd. Sony and Microsoft LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE to simply apply a 1:1 ratio for dollar to euro. It's why I import 99% of my games from the USA so they cost me a wooping 40-45 euro including shipping. Thanks to the shitty dollar XD
USA's collector's edition will most likely be 80 dollars.
I hope that Episode Zero book is in it, looks fun for a little backstory.
im so waiting for the OST to hit. There are some really awesome tracks in FFXIII. I think Hamauzu outdid himself, maybe because its his last job as a SE employee
I've been avoiding this thread like the plague to keep from seeing spoilers so excuse me if the question has been answered... Will there be a collector's edition available on release day in the US? (like there was for XII) And what is special about this edition? I have only found very little and vague information on it and only in Europe for some reason.
There has been no Collectors Edition announced for the US as of yet.
What a boner jam.
Have the bonus contents of the existing (JP?) XIII collector's editions been disclosed?
IIRC there wasnt a Jp collectors edition, but a EU one has been announced.
The closest thing I recall to Japan having as far as anything special for their launch was the Lighting pink consoles.
Ah, I thought I had heard of a "Lightning Edition" game. It must have just been the PS3. Oh well... I am assuming they haven't disclosed details about the European's contents...
This was on the last page
