Parses lower than Guillo, but has a spike in dmg that we still don't know the cuz.
Over a long parse, I've consistently seen Guillotine outparse insurgency, and Raging Rush outparse King's justice. This could be because the players aren't quite gearing correctly for the new WS's, but that's just what I've seen personally.
they did such a good job with the actual animation... i wish they didn't have shitty damage output QQ
The nice thing about them is that they skillchain with other good WS. It's some nice added bonus damage in Salvage.
Agreed. I only use Insurg for SC's. Guillo still top dog.
It's good for three stepping light with a SAM. Other than that I've never seen anyone use it.
Sometimes in limbus/random stuff I do insurg(since its weaker) -> Kings Justice with my WAR friend for light and it's pretty decent. Otherwise guillotine spits all over Insurg.
On KI Drks tried all kinda stuff to try and understand it, but at the end they gave up. I personally didn't even bother myself with getting (<3 cata, etc). It could simply be a fixed % in which a spike can proc.
No1 bothered to ask about wut's up with some of the new WSs in Fanfest, so the hell with it.
I guess it could be their version of the 2-3 proc rate on Relic weapons. How significant is the spike?

Has anyone seen Insurgency do a crazy number recently? I've had it for a little over 2 months now and used it in Einherjar constantly and other things. I've yet to see the WS give me a huge number without Souleater involved. Maybe this was a bug they patched soon after the release of the WS.
Well I recently got Insurgency and decided to see if I can make some new sets and see if anything parses better than traditional load up on str/acc/dex/atk based set. I came up with a sort of hybrid set that incorporates str/int/acc/dex/atk, haven't tested it enough to see results against the traditional set, but I'll post them soon. Here was my gear set I'm testing:

Wut? Insurgency's INT mod is like 20%? Something like Chaos+1/Heca/Ares should fare better.
And your build looks ACC heavy and lacking attack (Both Askar Dirs and Abyss Cape at the same time?) for some situations, and usually if you really need to pile on that much ACC, you would likely be getting Madrigal anyway (hi2u Lurkers, you'll need to pile on ACC anyway though) or better off using a 1-hit WS. You want to have enough acc to reach that 95% point, then fill the rest with STR/Attack where plausible, just don't overload on ACC. Even with capped acc, you still wont land all 4 swings 95% of the time.
Black/Onyx Legs with Abyss Cape, or Askar Legs with Foragers if you need to mix it up a bit.
I'll let the math gurus step in and tell you if you have too much/too little though, and considering you have Abyssal, I'll assume you have some number of scythe merits, so you might not need as much acc. Look into Diabolic Eye also if you haven't already.
And Insurgency still sucks for raw damage. :<
Yea I have 8 scythe merits. The reason for relic+1 hands was +9 int and +5dex, wanted to test if that was better than +6str and +6 dex. My logic is +9int might be better than +6 str since the mod is also 20% int, but I'm still in testing faze. Also I decided to go w/ Askar Dirs since it has +4 int along w/ +4 dex (also +5 atk and+5 acc). I think my total values on this gear set was +37 str, +17 int and +22 dex, as compared to my Guillo set which is +41 str and +19 dex along with a lot more attack.
I use Insurgency over 200% TP or so, or to close light. Above 250% it starts doing more than Guillotine by formula I think.
Guillotine for nearly any other time though, which since I normally WS at 100% is nearly always. It's a shame, if they had given Insurgency something like drakes (1.0 flat mod, chance of crit with TP, decent STR mod) it would have nearly completely replaced Guillotine. It's a shame, I hope it gets an update.

I just got it, and pretty much what is said here, it's a slightly weaker Guillotine. It seems very useful when you want to skillchain, though, as it doesn't seem *much* worse than guillo. But god damn, is it gorgeous by comparison. Guillo is so boring
I haven't seen any odd spikes instances yet.... I wonder what they had in common (game day...?) when they did get spike...
