    They explained why Richard visited John as a kid, why Widmore knows about the island/wants to get back, at least partially how long the Others have been on the Island(predating Dharma Initiative), that Faraday's mom is Eloise Hawking, that Jacob seemingly has lived for as long as Richard? Also via the Locke/Richard scene that you can change the future timeline as long as it fits with destiny

    I wasn't really paying too much attention towards the end, but it looked like Richard got cut off when Locke asked him how to get off the island.

    The feeling grew exponentially tonight, that through the first 2 episodes of this season, it seems like the writers had no Effing clue as to what the hell was going on in seasons 1, 2, and 3.

    Totally made shit up as they went with no idea in sight to how they were going to end things.
