The feeling grew exponentially tonight, that through the first 2 episodes of this season, it seems like the writers had no Effing clue as to what the hell was going on in seasons 1, 2, and 3.

Totally made shit up as they went with no idea in sight to how they were going to end things.

Id say they knew where they were going just not how long to get there, the writers specifically said that setting an ending date was liberating for them artistically, so that didn't have to drag on just to keep the show going.

Some animes/mangas could take a lesson from them.

and yeah I agree, also early on JJ Abrams seemed to play a more prominent role w/ writing/show direction whereas now its just Cuse/Lindelof and they seem like they've known where they wanted to go from the very beginning.

I kinda want to argue with this, because episodic content is a lot more common here than it is in japan. I'm not saying animes never drag longer than they should, but generally, you can see the story progress toward something, and most end after 24 episodes.

Isn't that how JJ Abrams shows usually work though? He comes up with the basic idea and pilot for the show, pitches it, and usually other executive producers take over? Abrams is the brainchild of lots of stuff. Only with lost, he created it with Lindeloff, and he kinda took over with Cuse as two of the main exec. producers.

Anyway, even though some people think they're making it up as they're going along, I think that's bullshit. Sure certain things are thought of on the fly I imagine, but the mythology as a whole I think was set in stone from the start. So much stuff makes more sense now than it did. Sure we still have tons of questions, but they said near the end of this season going into the next, they'll be going into "answer mode"

People just need to be patient. Lost is back with a vengeance. I am loving every minute of it so far this season.

I didn't think it was possible for her to be hotter, but when she was grabbing her breast and talking about her ass I wanted to pass out. She spent her segment talking about how she is attracted to geeks and considers herself a geek.

The Faraday you saw at the Orchid is from the future probably, and you will see him infiltrate Dharma during a time jump later this season.

No actual spoilers, just some Faraday speculation.

So, at this point, we have been introduced to four women in Farady's life: his mother, Eloise the 50's other, Coma Girl, and Charlotte. Faraday said specifically that Eloise looked like someone he knew (the context implied Coma Girl). Faraday's said he loves Charlotte. But has he ever said he's in love with Charlotte? I've seen a lot of caring between the two characters, but little of what would appear to be romantic feelings. The Asian medium said that Charlotte's been on the island before. Could Faraday be Charlotte's father or grandfather, and Eloise be her mother? Could Eloise be Ms. Hawking and her being his mother is a cover story to cover the age difference? Is Coma Girl suffering from Time Travel Sickness?

Gah. Normally, I hate time travel stories, but this one hasn't pissed me off too much (yet).

In the enhanced replay of "The Lie" Mrs. Hawking's first name is given as Eloise. This has yet to be given on the show.

Edit: According to Lostpedia, Vincent was seen on the beach while Bernard was trying to make a fire in "The Lie," then seen running away when the flame arrows started falling.

As far as I know, she has only been referred to as "Ms. Hawking," although I haven't seen the season 3 episode in two years so I could definitely be wrong.

I guess I was wrong about Richard knowing the future, but at least, we got some explanation about the compass and why he visited young Locke.

The episodes was pretty good in overall. Faraday episode are always awesome.

These white flashes are the perfect copout to avoid giving us answers. Enough of that shit.

I was thinking about this while watching wednesday's episode, but I think there is actually an explanation behind the timing of those white flashes. Lost's universe prevent the future from being changed greatly, and those "jumps" are probably the results of this. Basically, when the future is starting to change, the world simply correct thing and make it go back the way it was suposed to be.

Of course, it's also conveniant for the writer, but it would explain why it always happen at critical moment.
