Pushing that with his leg must've hurt like a bitch. Locke needs to meet Jacob face to face soon. Wonder if his sacrafice will make him like Jack's dad and Jacob. Or maybe even Richard.

I did chuckle when Christian basically said, "What the fuck did you listen to Ben for?"

I fucking love this show, the wait in between each episode is agonizing though.

And lol at Jin thinking he can believe anything that Locke says.

edit: the whole thing w/ Ben that Christian brought up got me thinking, what if Ben said he had to move the island because he wanted all this to happen for whatever his secret motive was (probably killing Penelope Widmore?)

Maybe not, but she gave Faraday the opportunity to have character development. I can imagine Faraday going back in the past to save her now (same one we saw in the intro this season in the tunnel). Hopefully, it won't lead up to his death tho.

I didn't watch the whole episode, but the last 20 minutes were amazing. The part with John was pretty nice..made me feel bad for him when he accepted his death.

I'm wondering what will happen to John once they bring his body back on the island. Is he going to join the ghost team, or is he going to be the same good old John we like. It will be interesting to see.

I don't know about you guys but this episode is going to be hard to beat with all the plot twists, new information, and pure pwnage that today's Lost brought to the table. My favorite episode so far (even though each new one is my favorite)! Farraday, to me, seems to become more important as the show progresses.

It's possible, but her hair were light brown iirc, and she is younger than Ben (different timeline on island might explain this tho)

Too bad Faraday is going to die before the end of the show. You can't lose your girl and live. It never happens.

Next week look decent, but the episode in 2 weeks has the potential to be one of the best "The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham". I cant wait for this one

All year I have been hyped to see "The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham". That title alone makes me feel that the episode will be the best episode of any show ever. But of course I am setting myself up for a let down. Even if it is great, I will probably expect more. But that is a rarity with Lost, they normally take the hype and make it 100x better.

Anybody suspect the "Monster" to be playing Locke and the people? We know he can change image into people, and we know he can intimate voices. Such as the guy he pulled into the temple, calling out to his friends to come get him.

Also, I am wondering if he was really Jack's dad when telling Locke to leave the island. Watch that scene over again and you see his eyes change black. Just like Danielle's husband, his eyes turned black when he was about to shoot her. I am guessing he was also who took shape of Walt and so on.

It would make sort of sense. After all, Claire is supposed to be with Jacob and Christian, but in the Season 4 finale she was yelling at Kate not to bring Aaron back. I know it showed Kate 'waking' up right after that, but I believe it was one of the times the dead have 'returned', like Charlie did to Hurley and Jack and his father.

I always kinda thought the island brought people back to life ie. Jack's dad (Jacob) , Locke (prolly soon).

Are the oceanics 6 going to nosebleed all over the place once they come back? Or time travel is the only trigger?

Well that isn't true. I just read this and went back and watched those scenes again and their eyes 4000000% didn't change at all.

Question: if Rosseau met Jin back whenever that was, why didn't she recognize him when they crashed in the "present"?

Well, to be fair, she wasn't exactly in a clear state of mind. Also, if Desmond's 'memory' is any indication, she wouldn't have remembered the event until the time he did it in present time and she is dead. Though I guess there really isn't a good time to call the present anymore :s

I must also say, I thought we would be seeing more of Michael Abbadon. Though I guess with his other shows it might be the same way it was with Richard. It just seemed like he would play a bigger part. On the other hand, we still haven't even seen Jacob.

Course Correction...You may remember Daniel mentioning it in "The Constant".

From an EW column(spoiler because of size and it gets into paradox):

    Spoiler: show

Simply, this means that some kind of omniscient and self-aware agency — God; Fate; Some undiscovered regulatory force — finds a way to sort things out when paradoxes or inconsistencies are created by time travel. This is not merely a writers' contrivance. This is actually rooted in some kind of theory. It is called ''The Principle of Self-Consistency,'' and it was promoted by two eggheads, one named Igor Novikov, and one named David Lewis — and yes, as we learned last season, that also happens to be the name of Dead Charlotte's Dharma Dad.

But it's that Novikov guy who's about to flip your lid. In 1991, in a journal called Classical and Quantum Gravity, Novikov and another dude named Andrei Lossev wrote a big paper about time travel called — drum roll please! — ''The Jinn of the Time Machine: Non-Trivial Self Consistent Solutions.'' The purpose of the paper was to describe various solutions to paradoxical problems created by time travel. Here's an example of one such paradox — taken from a book I found called The New Time Travelers — that I believe speaks to the larger plot of Lost. Let's say a writer wants to write a novel. So he builds a time travel machine, goes to the future, buys a copy of the novel he wrote, then brings it back. Easy. Except who created the novel if the author really didn't write it?

But Novikov and Lossev argued that this seemingly impossible scenario just might be possible...if you were willing to apply some creative thinking. The title of their paper is something of a wry nerd joke, one that Lost fans can appreciate. In The New Time Travelers, the author (whose name I wish to deliberately withhold for now) explains that a ''non trivial'' solution is physicist speak for ''not the obvious answer.'' As for the other part of the title, the term ''Jinn'' is another word for the kind of genies you might find in Arabic fairy tales. Novikov and Lossev used the term Jinn to describe things like that magical novel I mentioned earlier — things whose existence defy conventional explanations. According to the mysterious author of The New Time Travelers, Novikov and Lossev were drawing on the depiction of a kind of Jinn that you find in the Koran; they are ''a race of spirits that can appear suddenly and unexpectedly.''

A race of spirits that can appear suddenly and unexpectedly. Just like Jin in last night's episode. Just like Christian Shepherd in last night's episode. And just like Desmond in last night's episode — Desmond, whom Faraday in the season premiere called ''miraculously unique.'' Just like a Jinn.

The implication of all these ''clues'' is that there seems to be some kind of time loop in play, one in which some or all of the castaways are the Jinns in the aforementioned magical novel analogy; they are objects that must be returned to where they belong in order to avoid catastrophic paradox and preserve the established time-space continuum. Which, I think, is a pretty good explanation for what Ms. Hawking and her off-Island crew of quantum mechanics are attempting to do. (Too supernatural for you? Well, tough. The naturalists in the crowd got a big disclaimer from Faraday last night when he said: ''Bringing back to the people who left to stop these temporal shifts, that's where we leave science behind.'')

Crazy. Okay. But here's where all of this gets really great. The mysterious author of The New Time Travelers? His name is David Toomey. Ring bells? It should. David = Dave, Hurley's imaginary friend from the Loony Bin. Another Jinn. Toomey = Sam Toomey, another victim of The Numbers' curse. Best friend to Leonard Simms, one of Hurley's loony bin friends. In fact, the whole reason Hurley went to Australia was to find Toomey. Instead, he learned the dude had shot himself years earlier.

Yeahhhhh. The nice thing is that this is all a set up for Episode 7(I think) where Lost will get back into more character-centric episodes.

As for Locke coming back to life...Well, that depends on when the island stopped in time and "when" it is when they bring Locke's body to the island.

    Possible spoiler:

    Spoiler: show

In another EW article there is a shot of Jack, Kate, and Hurley at the "barracks". It appears that they are at the point in the time where Ben originally arrived on the island(the Dharma Initiative is alive and well). If that is when they return to the island with Locke's body it is very possible that he will come back to life.

I try not to read too many theories on Lost...mostly because I'm afraid someone is going to get it right and I really don't want to know what is going to happen next ^^.

IMDb :: Boards :: "Lost" (2004) :: Face it, Smokey is pure evil (Spoiler)

Many other people have noticed it as well. I was thinking at first that Locke would become a ghost like Jack's dad, but the more I think about this theory the more it makes me question random things that I didn't put much thought into before. Such as, why was he in the Cabin and Jacob was "gone". What was he doing, out renting a video? My theory is goes back to the mention of "two large forces going at it" that the writers spoke of. At the time people (me included thought of it as Ben Vs Widmore) but what if it is Jacob vs something else. Thus, why Jacob wasn't there and Jacob's foe was using that to his advantage to manipulate Locke. Of course, this is Lost and for years is full of wild theories that fans never get right.

Also, about her and Jin. They knew each other for like 3 hours max and she met him in passing 16 years later. I don't remember faces of people I met last week for 3 hours. She had gone through a lot of things in that time, killing her friends and husband, having a kid, having kid taken from her, being hunted and so on.

Or of course, there is the "Lost" theory on time travel that the future doesn't change until you go back into the past and change it. IE Desmond not remembering an event in the past until it happened and he magically remembered the event. Thus she wouldn't have remembered Jin until Jin actually met her in the past. Unfortunately she was already dead so it didn't matter.

If Locke fixed the island from warping, then why are the people on the island in trouble?

I wonder when in time they are when Locke fixed the island.
