Lost: Season 5

Christian is definitively bad. There is no doubt about it in my mind considering every scenes he was in were creepy. Lost doesn't try to trick the viewer with symbolism, they are usually straigthforward and mean exactly what it looks like. That's why it's possible to make theory about the story.

I believe Jacob is "good" (opposite of Christian) for two reasons. The first one is that Lost always build its story around opposite, and you need something to "opposes" Christian. The second reason is that Jacob ditched Ben for Locke, and Locke is definitively a better person out of the two.



About the smoke monster, my guess right now is that it's a collective [un]consciousness of every dead people who came in contact with the island at some point. I don't know the details, but it probably has something to do with the resentment of people who wanted to change their destiny but failled...or something similar to this.

It would explain why the monster can take the shape of anyone who died at least.

Finally glad to see more people thinking along the same lines as me about Christine. Jacob on the other hand, defiantly has to be good so you can have the whole good vs evil thing in the end.

I don't think the push pull thing will have any bearing on the show, just a small stupid mistake on their part.

I could see Christine standing behind Locke during that scene /facepalming himself though.

Christian never mentioned a direction to push/pull, so it probably doesn't matter how you do it, as long the wheel is turned.



I mentioned it a few pages ago, but I wonder if John will join the "ghost" team once he get back to the island. It will be interesting to see if he come back normally, if he join christian's team, or if he become a "good" ghost.

And yeah, I said something about John joining the ghost team quite a bit ago and then two post later you said the same thing lol. It would be rather interesting if he did.

Either way, it will be interesting to see what happen to John. I still have no idea if he will turn to be a "good" or "bad" guy. I can still see his character go both way.

About the Christian/Jacob stuff. My brother has a theory that the island communicates with people in a different way depending on what is needed. Perhaps Jacob was the incarnation of the islands wishes for Ben and now its using Christian to communicate with Locke.

Another mystery I forgot was how Lockes dad appeared on the island. That 'magic room' is no more so I wonder how they will answer it. Unless they have it with time travel, which I doubt.

I was just watching an older episode on T.V and saw a very funny scene. Boone asked Locke if he ever watched Star Treck and Locke made a comment along the lines of it being stupid. The actor playing Locke was in Star Treck.

BTW watching the older episodes makes me happy that we don't have to watch Claire this season. She makes me want to break things. Claire is one of the only things I hate about the first season.

So I assume, the only way to become revived on the island is to have been dead BEFORE coming to the island? Since Boone, Shannon, Ana Lucia, etc. haven't been seen on the island since their death... correct?

The only contradiction to this, that I can think of, is if Claire is dead... but I don't think she is. Any thoughts?

I don't know. Even though we haven't seen him much throughout the seasons his name seems of great importance. I think in some languages he is the angel of the abyss, or angel of the dead. The latter would tie in more with lost seeing as he just appears out of nowhere... He could be like Christian?

Some think Abaddon is the antichrist... if Lost plays with this theme he could be more important then we ever expected..

If you're a good guy, you won't come back as a "bad" ghost. Most characters who died accepted their death, and that's probably why they aren't comming back on the dark side (that, and their contract).

I think the name simply imply he isn't a good guy. I would be surprised if he was one of the higher up in the hierarchy, because he wasn't really different than most employee working for the other.

They never said exactly what or where the 'box' was. There was speculation by some people that the whole Island was the box. It just happened to be one of the things they mentioned and haven't gotten back to yet. Like the 4-toed statue.

His only scene from the past(I think?) was telling John to go on a walkabout so that was ~1-2 years before the crash. I'd say he ages normally.

The problem with Jacob being good and Christian being evil is that good and evil on Lost has always been a relative concept. I think this is most true when you look at Ben's storyline.

I do agree though that it's pretty obvious Christian has his own agenda.
