Seemed like to me after the gunshot, Ben's father had a bit of a revelation. He was talking to Juliet i think about how he thought he would be a good father but things didnt turn out the way he hoped. And on the day Ben eventually kills/watcheshisfatherdie, his dad seemed like he didnt like the abusive relationship(but this could be less substantial evidence since it wont happen for, like, another 20 years.)

Reading this makes me wonder what will happen regarding the part where Ben killed his dad (the Purge) since Ben is no longer with Dharma. I'm gonna have to find and watch that episode again this weekend.

Don't think it changes anything. Ben will be an other after they save his life but he'll live with the Dharma people still until they gas them all.

What is weird to think about is how Ethan is a Dharma baby but somehow lives to work with Ben long after he eradicates the Dharma people. Maybe more Dharma people get converted later on and know about it. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Ethan was able to be born on the island when normally babies can't be born...

At this point in time, there is no problem with pregnant women. That does not happen until later. Most likely it is after Ben takes over or does something stupid since all of the women giving birth die the same way his mother did.

Edit: There is also more than just Ethan that survived The Purge by one way or another, like Radzinsky.

This happens in every season of Lost. First 3rd of the season just untangles everything setup by the season finale, middle 3rd is slower character development, and last 3rd is balls to the wall build up to the finale. Next week's episode honestly looks like it will be as good as Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham, since it is sort of part 2 of the story?

I can see this coming to fruition but I feel like when the statue is destroyed/the power balance shifts from Widmore to Ben is when the pregnancy deal begins. I'm betting that some higher power disagreed with this shift and this is his punishment for the resudnets of the island.

i'd assume it'll be post-2008, and not something like the 70's or 80's

i guess it's safe to assume that jack, kate, sawyer, hurley, juliet, jin, miles, and daniel all safely return to the present-day, but that doesn't explain how Sawyer and Kate were in two places at once, when the island was flash-backing/flash-forwarding through time, and Sawyer saw Claire giving birth to aaron, essentially meaning he was in two places at once on the island @_@

I really don't get what you're trying to say but their was in fact 2 Sawyers on the island. Since Ben fucked up the islands place in time, they began jumping from time to time until they obviously stopped in the 1970s when Dharma existed. Nothing has really changed the time line as none of the characters have really messed with how things should have gone (except for obviously Faraday and Desmond at the hatch).

When claire gave birth to Aaron in season 1, there was 2 Sawyer on the island for a short time, and one was hidding behind the tree. There is no problem here.


I don't think "what that is happening happened" is literal, but the future will always correct itself to bring back thing the way they were suposed to be, and the result would be a "dream like" memories for everyone who experienced that particular time.

I really don't think they can really change the future. I was under the impression that everything that is happening or will happen was already destined to happen. Desmond was different because the island already fucked up his place in time which is why Faraday could tell him something in the past and he suddenly remembers it years later laying in bed with Penny.

You can't change the future, but timeline isn't static either. Eloise already said you can delay an event, but you can't postpone it forever.

I'm almost certain those slight alterations are going to be related to the "variable", and Faraday is trying to use those to change the future completely.

Anybody see Lilly on Jimmy Kimmel? I really liked how slow her response was when he asked her if Kate was pregnant. It was almost as if she was trying to quickly come up with a way to get out of it.
