No trolling the thread please. If you want to say something negative, by all means do so, but if you're here just to annoy and pester people because you dislike the show then you are trolling and will get an infraction. Consider this a warning.

Anyway tonight's show was ok, glad to see Alex again! I wonder if Ben will become a "Born again" and then nobody believes him and he gets screwed over, or if he tries to just screw John over hoping that the island doesn't notice or something.

They didn't cut it off, it looks like Ben got worked by Desmond. Explains why Ben was all beat up when he got on the plane.

I liked how they tried to make it look like Ben actually did kill Penny. Anyway, awesome episode, I love how great a character Ben is! Watching him is constantly entertaining.

I don't know, I think there's more to it after he gets knocked into the water.

"I just didnt have time to talk you back into hanging yourself"
So many many great line in this episode. Ben/Locke team is awesome.

The scene with Penny and the ending were simply great (shitty effect thought) ...it's really nice to see more of Ben's good side. He might be one twisted fucker, but I hope he get a good end (good end in his case mean dying for a good cause)

And alex was so fucking hot. Why was she killed?

How did Ben hurt his arm? Did Desmond hit it with something?

It didn't show how his arm was hurt, that's why I think there's more to that scene that hasn't been revealed.

Really enjoyed it. The Ben/Locke scenes were great. Also found the scene at the docks enjoyable. I knew that if Ben was beat up that bad when he went after Penny he had to have met Desmond there. Desmond is tough sonofabitch. The scene where Ben was holding the gun on Penny and Charlie comes out, it started running through my mind Ben was going to shoot Charlie instead. Wasn't until he just stood there that I realized that is what part of the purpose was behind the scene with the kidnap of Alex (besides the part where Ben wasn't following orders). I guess for as bad as Ben can be, he finds something wrong with killing a mom and her kid.

But we get to see Hugo say, Dude, you can talk with dead people?

without taking away the awesome story progression and great drama, does anyone else feel like Lost right now is no longer the Lost we love to start with?

I mean it always felt like there was a part of the mystery that would eventually be explained logically, and somehow everything would be uncovered and come together in a witty "so-that's-why!" kind of way... but now the show is just falling completely into the realm of fantasy and sci-fi, and it's just not quite the satisfaction I always anticipated in the solution of the show's many mysteries.

They are pushing the fantasy a bit farther than I thought they would at first (or at least, earlier), but I always expected thing to turn out this way. The healing, dead people walking, the monster....no logical explanation could have worked unless they added some heavy fantastic element.

Because Lost always bring up philosophical/spiritual topic, I think they are taking the right path to tell their story, as long they come up with a good conclusion (everything need to have a deeper meaning).

I can understand why you think it's a let down, but I don't think any explanation would have satisfied you. It's always the case when you read/watch story like this.

I agree, I doubt there's an explanation on this planet that would satisfy people who feel disappointed by the way things turned out. There's the issue of people not being happy with having no answers and being left in the dark (which has its appeal) and then the issue of people not being happy with the answers they get and missing the mysterious aspect the show had at the start.

So in a nutshell, people will never be happy.

I thought it was fairly clear it would eventually come around this way early on. In the first season alone you have cancer/paralysis cured, a smoke monster, a curse involving numbers and a boy who makes what he reads come to life, among other things.

I knew it would be fantasy, I guess I just hoped that they would do it more subtle and stylish rather than full-on sci-fi channel TV movie style.

I remember how pissed people were about religion in Lost during the episode when Charlie halluncinated the angels on the beach.

I understand what you mean, but which parts you believe is overdone? Smoke monsters and time travel (mostly time travel) are probably the only thing that feel unatural, but we know about them for a while already.

The only thing that bother me in Lost is Eloise (and her explanation). She totally come off as unatural, and every scene with her feel forced. She look nothing like a physicist, and her mysterious tone sound stupid

I'm looking forward to it if for nothing more than info on Miles. I'm hoping this episode will explain why he asked for an exact amount from Ben.

Responding to an earlier asked question, I think Ben will listen to the smoke monster and follow Locke. Mainly due to curiosity though with a side of fear. Curiosity since I'm sure he probably wants to know how Locke knows so much about the Island and fear because if the Island can resurrect the dead, what else could it do?

Week after next gives us a Faraday episode, so that should hopefully answer a few questions.

    Synopsis:
    Spoiler: show
On the 100th episode milestone for the series, the time of reckoning has begun when Daniel Faraday comes clean regarding what he knows about the island.

    On Smokie:
    Spoiler: show
I think it's pretty obvious that the Alex they showed in this episode was just a physical form that smokie was able to manifest- similar to Eko and his brother.

I think this was my favourite episode to date. Love the mythological part of LOST, not the SawyerKateJackJuliet drama so much. <3

Next week's episode looks so exciting. I've been waiting forever for an episode that was miles-centric. He's one of the most interesting characters, really. :D

Can't help but wonder how much truth their was to the phrase "Dead is Dead" Yes I realize I am being obtuse considering we know Locke died, we see him walk around so he is "alive" but I can't help but wonder if he is something else, or for a better word, something more.

Also how he said "If you want your daugther to live if you ever hear whispers run the other way" I had always assumed

    Spoiler: show

That the whispers were a force of good, or at least something not evil. Also about smoky, if the temple is thousands of years old, and one would assume smoky is as well, what kind of fracking tech was used to create it. Some weird melding of Tech + Mysticism perhaps?

And how the hell is flushing a toilet the way you summon smoky, not only that he spoke to it. I can't help but belive their is more then one version of the "monster"

Oh and about Ben hurting his arm, I thought that happend when he was knocked to the ground by desmond, he fell on that arm and winced did he not?

Did anyone catch that board game on the table in Ben's house? Never was a board game player as a kid but that just screamed "clue" to me.
