    No way, I think there is something more to Ben, Desmond and Penny. Ben said to tell Desmond he was sorry. Now why would he be sorry about failing and getting his ass kicked? I am sure Ben did end up killing her, why else would he seem truly sorry?

    Sorry about scaring you and Penny and little Charlie?

    Ben's not a complete cold-blooded killer. They showed that in the episode about Alex, on purpose. He was going to kill Penny until little Charlie walked out of the boat.

    I took it as "Sorry for trying to kill you and your wife, considering all the crap you have been through"

    He looked as if he was truly sorry considering he almost did to Penny and Desmond (2 innocents) that which Widmore had done to him.

    Just how I saw it though.

    The board game, Risk was from season 4, when the survivors split into 2 camps. Ben, Sawyer Hurley and Locke (I believe) were all playing when something suddenly happened, and they had to stop playing. It was just left there.

    I don't think he did.

    He was going to kill her as revenge against Charles. But once he saw Charlie he decided not to. Just before he got attacked by Desmond he was lowering his gun. I think the apology to Desmond was for shooting him and coming after his family. Ben can be an asshole, but he does seem to have some morals as we saw when he took Alex and spared Danielle. Basically I think the Penny situation is similar to that moment.

    Edit- About it being obvious, because we knew he had been on the island before and the season opener showing the baby. Just little things here and there. We even discussed it five weeks ago so I thought most here already knew / guessed / assumed.
