Season 1 is my favorite by far, actually its my favorite finale of any show. I just love the last couple of minutes where no words are spoken while it shows them boarding the plane. Fuck, now I've gotta youtube it. Love it.

Man it's been so long since I've even seen it. I need to rewatch season 1's last handful of episodes. I don't even remember them showing the plane boarding towards the end.

It shows them coming back with Claire's baby and at that time the music starts playing with nobody talking. Shannon is mourning her brother's death and then it starts showing them all boarding the plane. Then after that it just shows Locke standing over the hatch and the light turns on.

I've only got a few hours of sleep before work, damnit. So one more thing to say.

What if the reason they didn't give the man in black's name is because we've already heard it. What if his name is Aaron and Jacob is between Jack and Kate (people always speculated that Kate got pregnant before the flight).

I know its random, but damnit we've got over half a year and another HUGE mystery has been laid out before us.

I wonder if Richard can now age if Jacob really died.

Good question, he should turn to dust like Adam lol.

And disregard my last stupid thought. Just noticed the million flaws in it.

It will be so interesting to see the start of next seasons since you can never tell what's going to go on. Each season is always so different. Wouldn't be surprised if it started with the plane landing successfully in LAX. I mean I didn't expect this season to have time travel be the main theme. Oh well 8-9 months to wait.

Edit: The season 1 finale so weird when Jack and Locke nod to each other on the plane.

I don't know, maybe alot of stuff that happened went over my head, but I thought that last season's finale was better than this season's. Honestly as a whole I liked last season better. I'm looking forward to season 6 though, I will always be a fan of this show from pilot to series finale.

There was nothing like this here...was probably cut off by the commercial after.

I bet it's Jack, and they are going to start season 6 like they started season 1 (jack in the bamboo forest), but they will end up on the island in the present, and people who died in the past are still dead.

"Did it ever occur to you guys, that what Jack is planning to do, actually CAUSES the incident?"

Well Miles, it occurred to me. It occurred to me.
    This line was great.

I love how there is always a character pointing out detail like this in Lost. Unlike other show we wont name, you can tell the writter are actually planning everything out, and the character aren't completely oblivious.

It doesnt explain anything. Mythology/religion are a guideline for the story, and give you hint about stuff, but they should never be a part of any explanations.

Going to have to say the same thing everyone else seems to be saying....best episode of Lost by far. The ending definitely made me yell at the TV though. Having an ending like that and making us wait until 2010 for the next season is just so mean. =(

The girl who showed Frank what was in the giant cargo box... she said someone else had been in the cabin, but then again it might have been the smoke monster just taking Christian's form? Either way it seems she might be significant since they showed Jacob visiting her asking for her help, she doesn't even seem that interesting or hot. :/

All I can say is that I am sort of disappointed for a season finale, sure we got a lot of answers but there was such little action compared to the other fucking beyond epic and exciting season finale's which Lost is 2nd to none at. Goddamn the wait is just too long and inhuman to put on fans.

Is Christian really a transformation of that man in black? I mean he became Locke to deceive Richard and the others. What purpose was served by him becoming Christian?

Based on what's been shown, it almost looks as if this man had been grooming Ben to kill Jacob since he was a boy. In season 3 "The Man Behind the Curtain", I think it's safe to say that he manifested as Ben's mother to lead young Ben to Richard and his people. When Richard asked Ben if he saw his mother on the Island and Ben replied yes, Richard had a look of surprise on his face by it. Perhaps part of the loophole was no natural born inhabitant on the Island could kill Jacob, therefore he choose Ben. Since he was born off the Island and was a young child (an adult from the Initiative wouldn't have worked, they wouldn't believe it) who was in a state of emotional distress (father constantly blaming him for his mother's death), he made a prime candidate for eventually being the person to kill Jacob.

Ben did get helped in getting Widmore off the Island to become the leader (which makes one wonder how Eloise got removed from leadership because Richard clearly said in tonight's episode she was their leader; and they only have one leader at a time) and gained leadership at that point. It could be possible that either Jacob did not acknowledge Ben as their true leader for the reason as to why Ben never saw Jacob, or the mysterious man in black prevented Ben from being able to communicate in some way with Jacob to further frustrate Ben. With the chain of events that lead to Locke saying they had to move the Island and Ben moving it all the way to the point where they came back, it could have been the other man manipulating Locke to start the events to push the out come of Jacobs death into focus. If he truly controls Christian's manifest, then having Locke leave the Island would finish putting his plans into place and bringing Ben back to kill him.

Looking back, I retract my early statements about Locke and Christian being alive. The manifests makes more sense. But one possible theory I was thinking about tonight was perhaps Jacob's residence is the foot of the statue (as Richard said it to be) and this other man's residence was the underground of the Temple the smoke monster resides in. It might explain why the manifestation of Alex told Ben to follow Locke's every command or she would kill him, since at the time this man had already manifested as Locke. It further sealed the deal for Ben to have to kill him and when "Locke" told Ben the reasons he should have to kill Jacob it practically sealed the deal. Then Jacob telling Ben "Why not you" pushed Ben to the breaking point to kill him. 30 years worth of time to get Ben into position to kill Jacob. Destiny plays a part in the show quite a bit and they almost make it out to be that it's Ben's destiny to kill Jacob.

The part I still don't understand is what happened to Claire's body. If she is moving around with Christian's manifestation, wouldn't that make sense to assume she was also killed in someway? Or did she somehow embrace joining what she thought to be her father and was able to move around with him alive. Was it a way to get Aaron to Kate and help push them back to the Island later on? I am curious to know if Michael is going to play any further role in the final season, as they made it look as if he supposedly disappeared off with Christian when the freighter blew up.

That's just what my train of thought has thought up in regards to what happened. I'm no where saying it's correct so any input or corrections would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think Alex's manifestation and Locke's came from the same place, because Locke had to ask why Ben was following his orders.

What I wonder is how the Others are linked to both Jacob and the monster. Richard did bring young Ben to the Smoke monster before (in the temple), not to Jacob.

I think it may be that Ben is the "loophole", that's why jacob refused to see him for the past 35 years?

Any speculation on why jacob was killed?

Dunno if it's been said or not (don't think it has been)

Is it really Jacob's cabin that they blew up? Or was it the man in blacks cabin? Maybe HE was the one that was bound there by whomever, and the ash kept him sealed in, not Jacob. That would make more sense when Locke going to the cabin in season 3 and someone saying "Help me" and it was him and not Jacob. Just throwing theories out at this point, cause that's all we can do. maybe the man in black was the one sending Locke all those dreams and visions, not the island, or Jacob.

Ok I must have missed something here, who exactly said anything about a man in black?
