Lost: Season 5

There has been so much Lost information that I've read at work over the weeks and intended to post it here but forgot. One that recently sprung to mind is the fact that one of the top writers Brian K. Vaughan has left the show before the sixth season has been finished. REALLY sucks to see one of the shows writers leave before the end. Hopefully it isn't like when Heroes writers left after a season and it went in vastly different directions.

A good question I heard was about Desmond and the "Whatever happened, happened." They claim that Desmond is special and can change things. Hence he was able to alter Charlie's death. But in the end, Charlie's death played into whatever happened happens. If Charlie had died when he was first supposed to then the events wouldn't have unfolded for him to warn the islanders and them moving the island the way they did. So is Desmond really that special? Sorry if some don't understand what I mean, I don't have much time to write it all out coherently.

Also, anybody notice that fake Locke has a different shirt on the island then real Locke had in the coffin? Maybe it was a tip off from the start that he wasn't real.

I figured he wasn't real the moment they showed him in black clothing after the crash. Even back in season 1, 2, or 3(?) Claire had a dream of Locke with black eyes future foreshadowing?

Well yeah, I remember we all pretty much knew he was taken over from the start, but its nice to see the pieces and hints added in the end to prove to those that make claims that the writers make things up along the way.

Anybody that has done any sort of writing knows that isn't true. Well...its like 50-50. Whenever I write a story the first thing I know is always the ending then I come up with an arc for the beginning, middle, and end. Then the rest is made up along the way. With writers for shows they get the privilege of being able to not only do that with the whole story arc, but with season arcs and even episodes.

Or of course I could be given them more credit then they deserve and it could just be a fuck up by wardrobe. There have been many mistakes on this show, such as random people in the woods or microphones hanging in the middle of a scene.

Reading the paper today I saw Mathew Fox and thought he was under the obituaries. Turns out it was just his birthday but it really made me shit myself.

I wonder how the team would handle one of the main stars if they died before the last season. Shit would suck. Sure with the ending of last season they could pull it off for quite a few people but I couldn't imagine if they started the sixth season and just said, "Oh and Jack died".

Been rewatching old episodes and every time I do it makes me more and more psyched about the final season. Also, after watching the Pilot again I think I'm finally jumping on the bandwagon that something was planned or even that something happened to Jack in the first episode when he disappeared after being chased by the smoke monster. The dialogue and his explanation is to strange.

Talking about what I said about the Pilot episode? The Smoke monster chases them out of the plane and they all split up. Charlie catches up with Kate and tells him that the monster had caught up with them and he was sure they were dead, then Jack disappeared. Not to long later Jack shows up and simply tells them he jumped into a bush and the episode ends. Its the way it all plays out and the way Charlie spoke as if the monster had cornered them and or went off with Jack. Then he claims he was saved by a bush.

There of course has been a lot of speculation about this since the writers said there was a very important moment in the Pilot episode that many fans missed. So people just look at all the things that stand out and this is the biggest.

I'm really intrigued about the things they say they have planed for this year. Would like for somebody that sees it to relay unto this topic on what happened.

I know this is random but I found it to be very funny. I recently got the new NCAA Football game and I created a few teams. I wanted a lot so I made a team made of Lost characters as well.

Anyone remember that post a while back about Jack working in the hospital, he's treating Shannon for something and then Desmonds bursts into the hospital looking for Jack and when he says he doesn't know him Desmonds says "Not you too brother!"

I thought that was a great idea when I read it, but thought nah they won't just erase the events of the last 5 seasons. o_O My grandparents who watch Lost all the time, wow their brains are gonna implode! Took me forever to explain the time travelling of S5. xD

Didn't find a stream but there was a liveblog(with various live bloggers like DocJensen posting) with some pictures of the 1hr panel with lostuniversity.org and Michael Emerson's audition video for Hugo in 2004 being the only non-fan made vidya shown.

They didn't explicitly say that the bomb worked or didn't work. When asked if Juliet was alive and questions along that vein, they said it depends on what the bomb did and the extent of its aftereffects. But I'd say this should confirm that scene with Desmond/Jack.. also apparently they have the script for the finale ready and they are going to lock it up and open it the night that the finale airs on Jimmy Kimmel to prove they arent making everything up as they go along. They locked the case itll be in on stage but then Sawyer came on, tasered Lindelof, opened the case and then they read the script page in there, but it was actually a script from Heroes that involved Sylar, Parkman, and Mohinder at the circus..

edit: and yeah my grandmother really did not like season 5 because she understood the timetravel but just found it so silly.

Ha, I remember when I posted that Jack / Desmond thing everybody called me crazy. Still we don't know if its true, but its lost. Its crazy to call anything crazy.
