Question about the way posts are ordered

Ok here goes. When i view a thread it shows the very last post first and calls that page, page one. To find the 1st post I have to go to the last page and scroll all the way down to what should be the very last post but it is the first for me. It seems that it is completely backwards. How do I make it show the 1st post on the 1st page and at the top? Sorry for the stupid question but this is bothering me and I can't figure it out myself.

user cp -> settings & options -> Edit Options -> Thread Display Options -> Thread Display Mode
yours is probably set to Linear - newest first
change it to Linear - oldest first

Scroll down, make it Linear Oldest to Newest
