I remember reading somewhere how some chars replace the old ones, that leaked list from a while ago seems true so far.

Gen/Rufus = Yun/Yang
Fuerte = Mika
Viper = Necro/Remy?
Zang = lolHagger/Hugo(both in the backgrounds in new stages)
Juri = Elena?/Juli/Juni
Abel = Guess those dudes from SF3

But if that so called leaked list is true why would they add Dudley, f***in s*** man why dont they just put everyone in one game.

1st of all, gen has a style of his own. its no where- remotely- in the same league as yang.

yun and rufus, ill give you since they are similiar in 1 area only. dive kicks lol. other than that, rufus is nothing close to yun. no links similiar, etc

if viper was similiar to anyone, i would say rolento, just because she has a super jump and he does too. idk anyone else with a super jump, but i could be wrong. she is nothing like remy or necro lol. if anything necro is similiar to blanka just based on some of his electricity skills (and he's still nowhere like blanka as far as playstyle goes), and remy is like Guile. he has sonic booms ffs and the flash kicks. its just named differently and slightly different annimations lol. viper too is very unique in the series.

this one idk. i hardly remember those 2, but i know they werent in the tae kwon do style. ono said juri was going to be the 1st type of that fighter in the series, so i doubt shes similiar to anyone as far as playstyle goes

abel was like alex. hes a straight up grappler and a mixup master lol, but he's also a bit different because alex could handle anti airs ok compared to abel's cr. mk/hp/falling sky


anyways. idk what to expect. i havent played this game in forever, but idc about guy/cody/adon lol. i just want to lvl up a charge character and maybe work on abel. abel is my fav character to watch in competitions and i (personally) find him the flashiest. im also looking forward to see how blanka has improved/nerfed as well.

you make it sound like that's a bad idea.

personally that was one of the huge reasons i loved brawl, was the simple fact that there were like 100 fucking characters, even though there were a bunch of clone~ish (but not really) characters (ness/lucas, fox/wolf/falco, link/tl, mario/weegee) it was way more fun.

one of the reasons i stopped playing sf4 for a while was because the online was just...ken/sagat/ryu with an occasional blanka thrown in =/

edit: also, i've been playing a shitton of abel lately and he's definitely one of my new favorites along with chunners/dictator, he can be extremely flashy especially if you can get someone into a corner and just continually hammer away at them. although one of the flashiest things to pull off (you'll probably only manage it once or maybe twice on the same opponent) is cr. hp -> lk roll -> cr. hp reset -> lk roll -> tornado throw

...god i know how that goes. thats why i stopped playing as well too. ill play with a few friends online, like weltall or something but him and i hate it lol. i feel like DSP sometimes lol, but i know its all in good fun. but i know itll be interesting when someone picks balrog for once or honda.

ill get scared if someone picks cammy/seth/el fuetre tho lol. hate those 3. but i rather those 3, than ryu/ken/sagat. all this SF talk got me interested in turning it on later. i was supposed to shower like 10 min ago tho, so ill just do that ;(

but yeah, winning online is nothing to be proud of. but ppl take so much pride in it, that it just turns me off lol. even good players. i went up against a great dhalsim on my blanka. i dont counterpick, so instead of picking someone else, i decided to learn more. i won like 2 matches after losing like 5, and right before i was about to win my 3rd match, he d/c's in the middle of a casual player match. like seriously? ppl still do that? i stayed away from ranked because you ran into that 50% of the time. but now on player matches? whatever man lol.


but when SSFIV comes out, ill put some time in it again, i just hope i can play with you bg ppl instead of waiting for an invite for some random ragequitter :D

oh god i can't wait for ssf4, mostly because i'm super hoping people pick something besides a fireball spamming character online.

even if i get my shit kicked in by everyone online when i do decide to go back i'll be happy as long as it isn't shoto army again. until then i'm in the same boat, i just play with friends.

one plays vega(claw) a lot, and he's actually getting quite good at him. not super good, but he can kick my ass as abel because he knows how i'm going to play against him. although i did hop on his PC to play it a bit, just to see the differences between online for PC and the 360, and i pretty much encountered nothing but really *really* good people who played just about everyone BUT a shoto.

there was this one gen who could just....i don't even fucking know what happened, usually when i pick chun-li i can blow all of my meter and throw everything i have at someone to pick up at least one round, but this gen was so fucking intense. he was all over the place, he'd constantly reset me -> do some crazy walljump shit and then do a 25~40% combo on me, was awesome. a lot of good honda/blanka/boxer players with a few fuertes sprinkled in (skittish little bastard), was a lot more fun than the 360 was, probably because i imagined *everyone* had a USB stick, or was macro-whoring. either way it was awesome

Gonna have to say you got lucky, lol. I play on PC all the time and it's full of terrible players. It's not quite the shotofest I've heard it is on consoles but I can't imagine turtling blankas/guiles/giefs being that much better. There are some good players for sure, but I tend to run into the same few pretty often. I think it's mostly the fact that there are less players overall on PC that makes the good ones stand out.

Then again I play Gen, so I might just be too judgmental; I'm sure there aren't too many people online that know the matchup.

Edit: Actually, checking my player record it is pretty much a shotofest, lol. Nearly 40% of my matches are against Ryu/Ken/Akuma/Sagat.
