Honestly, if you wanted to play the game online, get it for the 360. No lag problems here (although I thought that this was common knowledge by now )

Yeah I foresaw the lag issue, so I went with Xbox360. Glad I did now. I'm actually really liking the analogue on the 360 controller <_<. I'm digging CViper atm, she'll probably be my main. My hands cannot last anymore than 3 matches using this controller though; I'm gonna have to invest in something new.

Just wait for the newfags to put down SF4 after two weeks. It'll settle down.

360 shouldn't be any better in dealing with lag. They are both based on the same net code.

I don't think most the ppl here are noticing the lag I am. Play in an arcade, or some offline vs. matches, and then try to play online. Your timing for chaining is completely useless.

Fuck you guys I gotto wait til tomorrow thanks to class, this lag will be an issue for me since I got a PS3 =(
I already notice HD lag at two different arcades I play at, so this will be a problem if PS Network is like this

I agree, i have yet to be able to punish w/ cammy and abel via strings. O well it'll get better with time. I hope.

I'm just having a blast playing. I can only take this game seriously in an arcade, but online fighting for what it is, I've had some intense matches. I'm switching it up between Abel and CViper. Too many Ryus and Kens.

I agree, and you know what. I love fucking owning all the Ryu and Kens with Zangief its soooo funny lol. Anyone beat all the time trials yet? The 15 stage one, I think it's the tenth challenge is a BEAST.

Oh and I'm always up for a challenge if anyone ever wants psn is sigged.

Yeah, my Chun-Li is unplayable with how I play her. D+LK,LK,LK,LL,SA is pretty much unthinkable, which is her bread and butter in SF4.

Orz...time to practice the Ryu parry cancels......

My roommate got the 360 version (I'm personally not wasting money on it.) I could hear him yelling at his TV because of the lag. Of course, this isn't anything new. He's been yelling at HD Remix the same way since that got released too.

Lag will have to be fixed in time, I can't imagine them not working on it. I couldn't pull off Chin li's : < B + MK, D + U + MK + MK + MK > For the life of me in online play. And her Ultra just forget about.... maybe got it off once in the handful of matches I played.

Outside of the somewhat laggy online, single player is a blast and rly enjoying the game. Couldn't imagine it w/o the stick though, thanks Weltall

Can anyone add anything to this? HD Remix on the PS3 can get retarded with lag sometimes but other times fights can be just as smooth. I really can't stand the thought of picking up fighting games on the 360 simply because of the d-pad and the whole stick-building thing is pretty intimidating since I consider myself a casual fighting game fan to begin with.

There are many factors that contribute to lag... But in fighting games, specially w/ SF where it gets too technical (to the point of frames) any little lag will throw you off. I remember there was a difference between the DC and PS2 versions of SF3: 3rd strike. I felt the DC version slower and couldn't parry properly. Anyway, as long as the player gets used to the lag that inherently comes from online play, they should be ok...

As long as you stick to people who are Verified under Paypal and have a recognized form of payment, you should be fine.

The Hori Soul Cal 4/DOA 4 stick for the 360 seems quite alright to me...it's like $60...and its good enough for the price. So if you're looking for a decent cheap stick on the 360, this one works.

I'm pretty sure the VF5 stick is based on the same design.

The problem with this is serious players aren't willing to change their timing/framing for online play because it will absolutely SCREW this in actual tourneys and money match play. For example, I am not touching this game online until after my Friday and Saturday night tourneys.

Clearly this is all part of Capcom's master plan to keep you paying for sf4 in arcades rather than playing it exclusively online.
