All the noobs that were spamming ken have made me soft, in 30 minutes I went from 1800 BP to just under 1500 after getting my ass handed to me by an excellent Guile, an astoundingly good Honda, and a guy that was doing some crazy shit with Sakura.
Thing that pisses me off the most was lossing over 100 points to a laggy Sagat host. I should have dropped but i knew he sucked and thought i could push through it.
Lesson learned: drop from the fight in the first round if your being hosted by a dude with a shitty connection.
All the Ken and Ryu's are a snore fest. I fucking love abusing Cammy's Quick Spin Knuckle against hado spammers, opens up a world of hurt with her Spin/Gyro Drive Smasher. Played an E. Honda who freaking destroyed me though but then again Cammy's always sucked against him.
I spend more time looking for matches than playing them. Don't really have this problem for other games.
Also Ken Hivemind is so annoying.
About all I am losing to now online is REALLY good Sagats and extremely good Blankas. Sakura can't do much about Blanka because she relies more heavily on jumping than any other character.
Zangief can get me every once in awhile because I can build about 13-14 hits on him with full bar and then get Ultra'd and the match becomes even.... that is a flaw of the fucking system though. I should be the one with Ultra meter, not him.
Figured I'd play a little more on the regular player matches to get accustomed to the system before I try my hand at ranked. Hopefully it's nothing like Soul Calibur IV where everyone picks Kilik to use lagtactics to build points.
Gave up on online play until most of my friends get it and so I can add them on PSN. The lag is too much for me, even with 3 bars
Another online fighter down the fail tube...at least the situation isn't as bad as say, SSBB.
I am not the only person who can only find shitty connections? Most of the time, even if I settle for 3 bars(and the rare 4 bar) it says I am unable to play.
Just ignore the connection meter, it's not an indicator of anything at all. I just spam whoever is in slot 1 when searching, whom almost always has no bars, and get smooth matches.
The meter isn't even remotely accurate.
I've never seen the green 5 bar once. Out of 20-25 people, I might see 1 4 bar. Oh, and it is about 7:1 ratio of "cannot play". You sir, are not the only one. Actually, I am willing to bet anyone that has drastically excellent ratios is lying. It is the game, not our connections.
I've found some green bars, but not a ton. I still don't have any major lag issues, but it might be due to the fact that I host 99% of the time. (I don't know why you wouldn't, I host, someone joins in 5 seconds, and we play. None of the Unable to Play bullshit)
The Cannot Play is a result of them not cleaning up the Quick Match/Custom Match lists when someone is mid-join on a game. There's also the occasional tard who hosts without having forwarded ports.
So I played this for about an hour this morning and got over 2,000 BP without even trying, and it is still making me play against competition that have 0~1200 BP.... and I am getting like 7 points for winning.
Wtf??
Theres an option that allows you to only be challenged or see people above your BP level. Use it.

^Lmao, you did the same w/ KZ2. You were QQing about how bad the controls are, and a couple of posts below you called it "GoY." Do you post drunk by any chance or don't give games a chance? t('-'t) Good times though <_<
No no, I do still believe the KZ2 controls aren't the best, but the game is absolutely amazing.
I've bitched about game design for 5 months on SF4 since my arcade got the game. I just thought they would do it justice with the online on SF4.
A pleasure to play offline with real people from real fighting game communities, the online play of this shouldn't be touched with a thirty foot bargepole with a lit napalm tip.
Personal opinion, but the sportsmanship amongst people who actually get out and gather is amazing compared to armchair Live players.
