I don't think fireball motions were ever the deal breaker with pads...

What i said applies to any command input. Shorter movements = faster execution times. Skill is skill though ultimatly.
How in the hell did you end up spending $240 on a custom stick...that's insane. I made mine with Seimitsu/Sanwa parts which were sent to me from across the ocean (actually, from all over the fucking world, arcadeshop.de in Germany, lizardlick in NC, akihabarashop in Japan, etc. and I live in Italy so figures), threw a Toodles' PCB in there for good measure (got an InPin converter from laugh over at shoryuken as last resort cause I'd rather play from day 1) and even built-up the wooden case from scratch on my own and didn't even get close to wasting that much money, expeditions, customs taxes (which are pretty steep in my country, specially if you got stuff coming from Japan) and disadvantageous exchange rates included.
Kisamoo might've been onto something.
That being said, yeah, sticks are the shit, no pad could ever compare.
@Sek: are you gonna play on Xbox or PS3? Perhaps we could use SFIV as an excuse to settle old grudges![]()
I got my TE 3 days ago, it fucking doesnt work, fuck madcatz
edit: anyone going to the launch party tonight?
Because I have a custom stick that works for 360 and Ps3 without any soldering or connectors.
Custom art, sanwa buttons, Full 360 stick + an extra Oct Stick (bat tops). The weight of the custom destroys any market stick. The throughput and extension is also far superior.
Anyone wanna play 3rd strike on GGPO?
man i just came here to see some hadukens, but everyone is speaking some language i dont understand.
Is the stick really that bad? I got it reserved as a birthday gift, I was hoping it would be at least functional.
The SE is a total piece of shit. The TE is just bad.
Haha. Grudges? I don't hold any anymore. Let go of everything a long time ago.I'll be on the PS3 though.
I'm building a custom right now just cause I want to.. it's gonna be close to $200 after all said and done. I didn't build the case myself though. That was about $75ish in itself.. tack on $40 for a Cthulhu, $30 for buttons, $25 on the JLF, another $15 on a meshball.. it got close after shipping. Would have eclipsed $250 if I went for one of those NAS premium cases. Those are so sexy and $130+ alone.
I haven't touched 3S in ages and SF in general in a while. Only recently did I pick up SF2HDR so I could gain some familiarity back so I'm a rusty ole fogey (my excuse for losing?! haha).
god, i love this game.
game is getting terrific reviews, im more excited then ever. What is a good stick/pad you would recommend for around/less then $100?
HRAP3 + order Sanwa USFN-30 buttons.
This will cost almost exactly $100.
Abel is the shit, Cammy is free, Sagat is a god.
I'm so fucking glad the 3 characters i use currently are just badass. Can't wait to play this on live.
What makes the TE stick bad, Weltall? I've heard a lot worse about Hori sticks than the TE stick, and even though I really don't like the idea of trusting madcatz to make a quality peripheral, I'm considering buying one with all the good reviews it's been getting.
i just want a fightpad.
Is the 360 controller really that bad? Are the jump button and attack buttons mixed up or is it just bad?
Its the D-pad that makes the X-box pad unusable.... *shudder*
mad catz made a new fight pad, but its getting mixed reviews, adapters for PS3 controllers create lag... I really feel bad for X-box users. Best route is to grab a stick or get a PS3, or wait for PC release.
